OUR TENNIS CLINIC PLAYERS HAD A WONDERFUL WEEK OVER EASTER ETI WORLD ISSUE 13, APRIL 2017 The Caloundra complex has been a hive of activity since our March issue. We had the finish of our awesome Orange and Red Ball competitions, we had many of our elite juniors playing in tournaments across Queensland and then we had the showpiece of the holidays with our fantastic Easter Tennis Clinic. All of this and more is covered in this bumper April issue. We now look forward to a super term two. A reminder there will be no coaching Anzac Day, April 25 or the May 1 public holiday. Our red ball champion-isabella Welsh Nullam

EASTER HOLIDAY TENNIS CLINIC The Easter Clinic was held in the second week of the school holidays. A super group of keen tennis players took part in all the fun and games. There was plenty of great tennis and plenty of smiles. The clinic had it all, the speed radar, ball machine, coaching on all shots, games, prizes and a monster party to end. Congratulations to Nunc cursus magna quis all the kids for the effort levels and their great play. Congratulations to our group winners- Jae Bath, Flynn Drew, Thomas Walker, Emily Creamer, Andrew Mather and Travis Hardie- and congrats to Saibh Hughes (pictured left), who won the racquet give-away. We can t wait for the next holiday clinic! 2

ORANGE BALL FINAL S DAY Not even a little rain could dampen the spirits of the Orange Ball players on their final s day just before the Easter break. Many of these players have played for a few seasons now and their court awareness, confidence in their scoring ability and their general hitting quality have improved enormously. There is also a great sense of companionship and sportsmanship through the entire group. In the end Bryce Parry took out the competition with 61 points. This was six clear of our runner up in Jackson Smith. Only one point further back was Milly Bonassi on 54 points. All players can check out their final score and position at www.elitetennisinternational.com Special thanks to Jarod and Eva who do a wonderful job as supervisors, sometimes under trying circumstances. The term 2 comp will commence April 26 and this term will see the comp breaking into two, with an Orange and Green ball division. 3

RED BALL FINAL S DAY Isabella Welsh strikes again! Isabella has won her third Red-ball competition with a grand total of 319 points won for the term. Molly Hilder played fantastic tennis to finish in second place on 307, with Hayey Kopelke next on 271. Again, all players can check out their final score and position at www.elitetennisinternational.com This competition is such a great introduction to match play and is run so well by the ever-popular coach, Jenny. Well done to all players on a great season, with special thanks to Kim and her great team at Pizza Capers for all their support and yummy food each Friday night. We now look forward to a great comp in term 2, commencing Friday April 28. 4

Matts Tip of the Month: LPC Learn: Practice: Compete: The best and quickest way to improve is to learn a skill, practice that skill then compete and try to use that skill under competitive pressure Learn is your lessons Practice, is coming to the courts to hit with your friends or family, hire a court or the ball machine to practice those skills. Compete, is your comps either during the week or on the weekend or even tournaments; using your new skills in match pressure is the best way to improve that skill if it works under match pressure then it works and you have mastered that skill!! Reminders: No coaching ANZAC Day 25 th April or the May 1 public holiday Caboolture JDS May 6 th & 7 th Noosa JDS May 20 th & 21 st 5
