Due o her illness hey've missed he las couple of Chaper doings and have some caching up o do. Rodger and Jennie Alsgaard missed he previous Geogeher because of heir daugher's upcoming wedding. They brough some picures of ha special even las December and we enjoyed viewing hem. Billie and Marilyn Marin also had a fine display of colored shos. They were aken during ha Chrisman Pary and brough back many happy momens. Ed and Marge Wisniewski enjoyed being wih he crowd. We appreciae heir grea effor in making ha firs Meeing of he New Year. Ed worked he Friday-nigh and Saurdaymorning shifs. Elmer Wagner was here and we personally expressed our condolences on he loss of his broher. The same o Don and Helen Lewis afer we heard of Helen's faher. His recen passing was sudden and unexpeced. Mos of us me him a few year's ago when he aended one'of he big doings a The Michigan House in Bay Ciy. During he evening, some would gaher around he piano for an 01' fashion sing-along. A few would ry heir hand a a friendly game of cards. From heir smiling f~ces i was impossible o deermine who was doing he winning or lo~ing. Wha a grea bunch. We knew of one winner in he crowd and ha was Dolores Zimmerman. Her name was drawn in he Regular 7-Crown Bole Raffle. Our Congraulaions o he Lucky One and sincere hanks o f'veryone for heir grea suppor in his Chaper projec. Don did a fine job on he promoion. Saving for a Rainy Day Rose and I had some ales o ell of our recen Hawaiian and Las _Vegas Advenure. Everyone was surprised o hear abou he 13 days of rain ha we've encounered. (We mus have been spending he money ha we were saving for a rainy day.> Despie a few disappoinmens, such as missing ou on our Pearl Harbor cruise, due o he bad weaher, all was no los _. We've me many new friends in our ravel group. Among hem were Don and Joan Savage and Maurice and Marge Hennen. Don was Bill's broher of "B" Co. 899TD who passed awaylasyear and is.on our Golden Honor Roll. MaurIce and Marge are friends of Al and Alice LeDuc, "c" Co. 47h in Wes Branch, Mi. (Small world, isn' i?) A reminder of The Ninh was always wih us, as Faher Connor's Coffee Shop coasers were firmly fixed on all our luggage. Tom and Gerrie Haon are enjoying he slower pace of reiremen. They were overnigh guess of Bob and Flo. On he way home hey sopped by a Jim and Audrey Bruner's new home in Flin for a wonderful visi Ṡad News Wih he firs wo pages of hese Noes compleed and all copies made, we were puing he final shee ogeher when he sad news came ha Maurice Michell passed away. I was a grea shock o us, he was doing well and we were hoping o see him andvi a he Reunion. Now, suddenly i's all over. To know him, was o like him and now we are lef only wih memories ha no-one can ake away. One of hese, he way he greeed us when our Michigan Chaper Convenion Bus pulled up in fronof The Sheraon Hoel in Philadelphia, las July. No one knows how long he was waiing bu 'here he was wih his pleasan smile and a helping hand. We'll miss him. This year's Reunion was going o be somehing special, he very firs one in his newly adoped Sae. Mauri was going here wih a grea ambiion, o help form a new Chaper and ye remain a Member of our own Michigan Chaper, of which he was so proud. May he res in Peace. Bob DeSandy arranged for he Floral bouque in behalf of The Chaper. We were calling Members o pass he sad word around and some sen Vi heir expressions of Sympahy. Unforunael)' We're always rying o keep our Mailing lis efficien and a recen call from Mrs. Clare Papuga was really appreciaed. The only reason hey never made any of he Chaper meeings is because of Ted's six day work schedule. Vincen Temple in Sandusky is anoher Member who has no way of aending our Meeings. He looks forward o making he Convenion wih The Chaper bu his year he will be disappoined. There will be no group ransporaion because of so many individual ravel plans and exend vacaions. Everyone will be raveling on heir own and we do hope o have a good urn-ou.
