C.J. Washington, a 6-8 senior forward, returns as the team s leading scorer and averaged 13.0 points and 6.9 rebounds a game last year. Washington was one of 10 players that earned Preseason All-Conference recognition from C-. The Blazers finished last season ranked fourth in the nation in rebounding margin with a +8.5 rpg advantage. Denzel Collins is the only other senior on a youthful team loaded with six freshmen and four sophomores. Collins joined the squad after spending the last two seasons at USC Salkehatchie where he averaged 15.1 points per game and was named a NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American Selection. The lone junior on the team, Robert Brown, is expected to start. He played two seasons at Virginia Tech before sitting out last year due to NCAA transfer rules. Brown started 25 games as a sophomore guard with Virginia Tech. Head coach Jerod Haase enters his third season at the helm.
