Know about the event The AXA Hearts In Action Run is back with another event for people to have fun and run for a good cause! Here is everything participants need to know about the event. Race Kit Collection details: Date: 15 17 September 2017 (Fri Sun) Time: 10am 8pm Venue: 1st Floor Concourse, Quill City Mall Kuala Lumpur ALL race kit of ALL categories consist of: 1 Brooks running T-shirt 1 number bib (c/w timing chip for 12km only) Safety pins CONFIRMATION SLIP ALL collections MUST be accompanied with: A hardcopy / digital receipt of the confirmation slip Your IC / passport or a copy Authorisation letter (if you are collecting on behalf of your family members or other participants) All the race kits without any special arrangement with the organizer and not collected during the stipulated collection date, will be deemed as unwanted and the Organizers shall be at liberty to dispose or re-distribute them accordingly. Goodie bags will be distributed to all the runners during race kit collection. Strictly limited to one goodie bag per participant. No claims of goodie bags will be entertained thereafter. Know about the event Check-in procedure (reporting) You are advised to join the warm-up session before the race which is tentatively scheduled to start at 6:30am. ALL runners are required to assemble at the STARTING point at least 15 minutes before the respective flag off time. Event day Substitution & Non-Registered Runners Important: You are NOT allowed to transfer your bib to any other runners. Substitution and non-registered runners will be disqualified. Only registered runners are legible to take part in the race. Bags / Personal Belongings Your personal belongings can be deposited at the designated storage area (to the barest minimum) at your own risk. Important: You are expected to pick up your personal belongings before the center close at 10.00am. Surau Surau is located in AXA Village & 3 KM. Race Cut Off Time All officials including course marshals, medical units and Police personnel, will be withdrawn from the course 10.30am onwards. Any runner who has not pass the 12KM mark by 10.30am is advised to take Marshals Vehicle for their own safety. Check Points One (1) mat checkpoint will be available along the route for 12km. Important: For 12km, anyone without possession of these checkpoint ribbons at the finish line will be disqualified. Drinking / Refreshment Station There will be three (3) water stations for the 12km route, one (1) water station for the 6km route. There will be water station on 6km mark and start/finish line. There will be water station and isotonic drink station at start/finish line. You are encouraged to hydrate sufficiently. Refer to the route maps on various drinking / refreshment station. Prize Giving Top three (3) finishers for men + women categories are the winners and will receive prizes. Winners of will be called upon for the prize giving ceremony on stage. Winners will have to assemble at the main stage 30 minutes before the prize giving ceremony. Collecting on behalf will NOT be allowed. All winners are to produce their MyKad / passport for verification purpose. Cash Awards Winners who are entitled to the cash award will be contacted 7 days after the event for arrangement of collecting their cash prizes. Food Packs Food packs will be distributed to all the runners after completion of the run at a designated area after the finish line. Please show your race bib for redemption. Strictly limited to one food pack per participant. AFTER THE RUN Certificates Runners who complete their race within 2 1 /2 hours will be given an E-Certificate for participants to download (made available 7 days after the event day). E-Certificate will be provided for participant: a) Category A & B 12km b) Category C, D and E 6km Race Results The results of Open 12km categories will be posted on heyjom.com/axa, one week after based on the timing chips records. Toilets Mobile toilets are available at the starting / finishing point. Medals Finisher Medals will be distributed at a designated area after the finish line on Event day. No claims will be entertained thereafter. Winner Trophy will be given during prize presentation.
Important advice Traffic Police While we appreciate and encourage your participation in this event, please take note that: a) You are advised to strictly follow all instructions given by the Course Marshals / Traffic Police b) Road closure begins at 4.00am onwards. Certain parts of the route will be closed intermittently. c) All roads are expected to be opened by 10.30am (subject to the traffic police discretion). Unpredictable Weather Conditions AXA Hearts In Action Run 2017 may be delayed OR cancelled in case of lightning storm or any other unpredictable weather conditions. We will notify participants in case there are unpredictable changes in the weather that require advanced preparing. In case you get caught in a thunderstorm during the course, do the following: Do not seek shelter under tall structures, metal poles, tall trees and tents Take cover under low hanging trees or inside nearby buildings The event may be cancelled in case of severe weather conditions. In such cases, there will be no refunds and the organiser will not be legally liable. Medical If you have any health conditions, please consult your doctor or a medical professional on whether you are fit to participate in the event. If a participant feels weak, dizzy, nauseous, and light-headed or an irregular heartbeat, it is advised that they inform an event official/volunteer immediately and consult nearby medical staff. Participants are advised to monitor their heartbeat, body temperature, and general well-being to avoid any unwanted medical emergencies. The medical staff at AXA Hearts In Action Run 2017 will treat serious cases and injuries, otherwise known as medical emergencies. They will not be able to treat minor cases like muscle cramps, minor cuts and bruises and minor sprains or strains.
