With over 50,000 square feet of course-like training space, 45,000 square feet of putting and short-game practice area, and an 11-hole golf course, playable in 36 different ways, our coaching team uses our world-class training facility to train students in golf course conditions every day.

PANG, Student We have examined the traditional academy model for its merits and flaws. Those findings, combined with strong research in human motivation and intrinsic drive, have allowed us to design a new ethos and approach to human athletic development. We are changing the game. We live right on the course and right on the practice facility, so we can play whenever we want. Our model can be described as Individual, Innovative, and Interdependent. Our team works together so every student can benefit from the combined talent, experience, and skills our team possesses to build a program around you, the individual. Not the other way around. Our players spend more time on the golf course, learning how to make decisions, building playing skills, and growing in emotional and strategic development. Creating a sense of autonomy and self-sufficiency through great coaching is what gives our students the best tools and preparation for their college careers and beyond. Our players are not overly dependent on technique although they train using the latest innovations in the industry such as K-vest, Force Plates, Flight Scope, and GASP video analysis. Our experienced coaching team uses the data to provide the most efficient and effective blueprint for the athlete to perform their best. We make our students better in every area to give them the opportunity to be the best they can be. Our players recognize that as long as they have the skills to control the ball, with a world-class short game that can do the scoring and a strong mind to put it together, they can perform to their full potential. Facility WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT OUR FACILITY AT BISHOPS GATE GOLF ACADEMY, YOU KNOW YOU ARE SOMEWHERE SPECIAL. THIS IS NOT YOUR USUAL PRACTICE RANGE BUT A PLAYGROUND TO UNLOCK YOUR POTENTIAL. This unique training environment allows you to train in golf course conditions every day. We have over 50,000 square feet of training tee space, 30,000 square feet of putting and short game greens, and 15,000 square feet of bunkers. In the fall of 2015, our training center will be completed with two indoor training bays, a putting studio, a brain room, massage room, and interactive classrooms. AN ATHLETE'S PLAYGROUND There is no other training environment to prepare yourself and your game like this facility. The 11-hole training course has a specific purpose on each hole and can be played from multiple tee locations and distances, allowing the 11 holes to be played in over 36 different combinations. Our 17-acre training ground has 8 specialized training locations. Each location has a specific goal for your development. We have four teeing areas that resemble different holes: Par-4 dog-leg left Par-4 dog leg right A driveable par-4 Straight hole to multiple target greens SHORT GAME MASTERY As a player, this is where I want to train because the facility takes me to the right place mentally to be ready for competition. I can work on my mechanics one minute and on feel for competition the next. The facility gives me all the conditions and the ideal environment for all areas of my game. Matias Simaski There is a full-time crew working to keep the quality of our greens in pristine condition, and they run as fast and smooth as any you will find in a tournament. There are two short-game areas where you can work on unlimited situations ranging from green side bunkers to 180 yard approach shots. Each of these areas allows the athlete to learn the art of scoring.
Life Residential life in Bishops Gate Student Housing offers a safe and nurturing environment, giving students the home away from home foundation to reach their full potential. By having house parents who are passionate about young people, a highly-experienced staff, and strong safety measures, Bishops Gate Housing is a wonderful place to call home. In previous years, Bishops Gate Housing only encompassed golf students. In 2014, a tennis academy opened at Bishops Gate, and now both golf and tennis students live together, offering a wonderful mix of sports perspectives throughout student life. By having multiple sports students, Bishops Gate is able to offer a broad perspective to students similar to what they will experience in college and beyond. Welcome to residential life at Bishops Gate Golf Academy. Our students are housed in upscale, spacious, fully-furnished condos that emit a home away from home feel. Students room with either one or two students with a maximum of six students per home. In addition, each condo has a living room, dining room, fully-appointed kitchen and laundry room and, in most cases, an enclosed patio for relaxation and games. All units have wireless Internet access and cable television. Students receive guidance and supervision on a 24/7 basis by live-in house parents who take on the responsibility of overseeing our students daily lives as well as assisting with their school commitments. Working closely with the College Placement Team, the housing staff oversees the academic progress as it relates to college preparation to help keep the students on track with their individual academic plan. The entire housing team is fully trained in CPR and first aid. All student residences are equipped with first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency evacuation plans. In an effort to provide the most secure environment for our students, each student house is equipped with door and window sensors. Upon curfew, these sensors are set, and if there is an opening, the house parent is alerted via email and text message to their phone. This allows for a quick and efficient response to ensure the security of each one of our students. Additionally, Bishops Gate Golf Academy has a nighttime coordinator on duty every evening to ensure student safety in the evenings, quiet time during study hall hours, and nighttime safety. The community in which BGGA resides is a 24/7 gated community with restricted access to Bishops Gate Golf Club members and residents. It is only through excellence in both academics and golf that we will produce the well-rounded individuals who will be best-positioned to achieve success in golf and in life. Discipline and rigor in our academic curriculum is a feature of life here. The majority of students will be here because they seek to play golf at a leading college. In order to do this, they will not only need to excel on the golf course but also demonstrate a track record of academic achievement in their school work. Starting from the ninth grade, students build their GPA for college acceptance. Focus and success is an important part of college preparation. A majority of our students will be looking to continue their golf careers at the collegiate level. It is for this reason that the selection of the right academic partner is so critical. Boasting a 100% college acceptance rating (85% college of first choice rating), MVA is the ideal place to help set BGGA students up for maximum success in their college pursuits.
College Prep Program At Bishops Gate Golf Academy, we believe that the college process is one of the most important aspects of academy life, and you cannot start the process early enough. Our mission for the College Preparation Program is to find the best possible college fit for every student based on their individual golf and academic levels. We want to ensure they have been adequately prepared and equipped to be eligible and accepted into the best college program for them. We believe many players at a traditional academy become over-coached and coach dependent. This makes them unattractive to college coaches and unable to fulfill their potential when their artificial environment is removed. We will create independence through education and getting a player to be responsible for his or her game; this combination will make our athletes more appealing to college coaches. Get ready to build your game, your mind, and your body for peak performance on the golf course and in the classroom to be the student-athlete every college coach is looking for. THERE S A PATH FOR EVERYONE The college placement process can be quite daunting without a solid plan and clear direction, especially for international students who are not familiar with the strict National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) requirements and rules. Our qualified and experienced college placement team, together with the coaching team, has a strong network of college coach relationships that can help eliminate many of the unknowns and identify the program right for every student. We will lead and guide you through the intricacies of the process and give every student the best opportunity to make the right decision for them. Whether students aspire to an NCAA Division I, II or III or NAIA school, there is a college for everyone! College Checklist Keep your grades up all four years of high school. They count! Take the PSAT in your sophomore year and the SAT and ACT in your junior year. If you are an international student with English as a second language, take the TOEFL in your junior year. Prioritize your college choices based on golf program, location, academics, size, team, and any other factors you consider important. Make as many unofficial college visits as possible to get a feel for the type of school you would like to attend. Register for the NCAA Clearinghouse. Make official visits after you start your senior year. Be prepared for your visits. This is an interview, and the coach and team are going to decide if you are a good fit. Commit in November during the early signing period, or wait until April for the regular signing period.
