Sail further north for 3 hrs following the coastal, rain forested mountains, to a new location, Hope Island East, a pretty, sand fringed island offering a sheltered and protected anchorage for the night. Day 2 Set Sail for Cooktown - Australia s Frontier Historical Town at approx 830 am after a delicious breakfast, we depart Hope Islands en route to our next destination, the historic frontier Cooktown. This leg takes approx 3-4 hours of relaxed cruising. Arrive in the afternoon and anchor in the Endeavor River. We hire a 4WD and take you on a tour of Cooktown including the renowned James Cook Museum, Cooktown Hill Lookout, Black Mountain, Lions Den Pub and Captain Cook s landing site. If circumstances permit we may visit a local who cares for and raises wild kangaroos and wallabies. Gourmet BBQ on the yacht with King Island Fillet Steak, gourmet lamb, sweet chili sausages and prawns with select salads. Mango ripple Ice cream and fresh fruit. Overnight in this pretty Harbour. Day 3. Set sail for Lizard Island Depart the picturesque harbour for approx 7 hours of relaxed sailing passing Cape Bedford and Flattery with its white sand cliffs. Arrive in the afternoon at the beautiful Northern Bays on the sheltered side of the Island Snorkel in the renowned Clam Gardens, Watson Bay. Day 4. Lizard Island - Cairns Breakfast on deck with a choice of either an early morning snorkel or for those fit enough a walk to Cook s Lookout. Visit the ruins of the Watsons home and learn the poignant history of the Watson family. For those departing today a private charter flight back to Cairns with the choice of a scenic option which offers flying at 1,000 ft for spectacular views of both Reef and Rainforest, or join the regular Macair service Paradise Watsons Bay The most sheltered anchorage on the North of the Island. Calm picturesque aqua waters with a white sandy beach. Great snorkelling from your yacht to the renowned Clam Gardens or just swim in the crystal clear water.
