Rainy days are a good time to hunker down in your shop making wooden things to show off to your friends and relatives. This month is Bird Month where it is suggested that you make something about birds. A bird house, bird feeder, a bird wall hanging: (eagles, pheasants, turkeys, cardinals, Blue jays, etc.) The challenge is to get you into the workshop; once there, you are sure to make something to show to us at the club meeting. I am so happy to see our Show and Tell session growing. The prize for the challenge will be drawn from the names of the people who have shown something at the club. The more things you show, the more times your name will be in for the drawing. Be sure to show something so you have a CHANCE of winning. Here are the challenges presently submitted. April - Something to do with birds May - Something to do with food: a plate, a bowl, a tray, a table, A banana holder, a wine rack, etc. June - Something with a drawer: Dresser, jewelry box, tool container. End table, puzzle box, etc. July - A clock: Anything with a ¼ hole in it and space to attach the clock, a picture, a house, a box, a board, etc. August - An Animal: carving, Noah s ark, Farm set, intarsia, Picture, Toy, etc. September - A lamp: Anything with a light in it. (or on it) By Jack Ackerman October - Something that will hold nick knacks: a shelf, display case, pedestal, shadow box, etc. November - Tree ornament, Nativity or other Christmas related item December - A present for someone: anything for anyone.
