Because the Time Trials Nationals classing is still in flux, we ll be asking people to register without a class. During check-in, we ll be helping people work through their specific classing. However, you can use these as a general rule of thumb as these rules shouldn t change much between now and the event: http://www.sccahq.com/time-trials-rules/ WAIVERS: Upon entering the track, everyone must sign a PIRC waiver at the Front Gate. After signing the PIRC waiver at the front gate, proceed to the first floor of the Timing Tower to complete the SCCA registration. The PIRC waiver is NOT the SCCA EVENT Waiver, everyone must sign BOTH waivers. A. All minors shall be registered and have a waiver signed by Parents/Custodians. Contact your Region for the appropriate forms. DRIVER ELIGIBILITY: A valid state driver s license and either a full SCCA membership or Weekend Membership are the only requirements for Saturday participation in the TTNP. Drivers who do not have TT Novice permits or license will be monitored during Saturday s TE sessions and will be eligible for a Novice Permit with successful completion. A minimum of a Novice permit, valid state driver s license and membership are required for Sunday. SCCA Weekend memberships may be purchased on site for $15.
HELMETS: Helmets certified as meeting the most current or the two most recent applicable Snell, FIA, or SFI standards are acceptable. Acceptable standards include: Snell ratings: SA2015, SAH2015, SA2010, SAH2010, SA2005, M2015, M2010, M2005; SFI ratings 31.1, 31.1A, 3.12, 31.2A, 31.1 2005, 41.1, 41.1A, 41.2, 41.2A, 41.2 2005, 24.1; FIA: 8860-2010, 8860-2015; ECE: R22.05; British Standard: BS6658-85 type A/FR, BS6658-85 type A. You may look at the following link for a list of certification labels. Important Note: SA2000 and M2000 Helmets are NOT allowed. CLOTHING: Sport, Tuner, and Max drivers must wear at a long-sleeved shirt and long pants as well as appropriate footwear covering the entire foot. No open shoes or sandals. Classes can be found here: http://www.sccahq.com/time-trials-rules/ TWO DRIVER CARS: are allowed. However, each driver must have a unique transponder for the hot lap, timed sessions and only one transponder shall be on the car at a time. TRANSPONDERS: The use of working AMB transponders is required. You will need to either reserve one online or bring your own. Rentals will only be available during registration for $20. A rental option will show up during your checkout below your shopping cart. You can also use this link: https://www.scca.com/products/17546-transponder-rental Paddock Parking: Because the track has other events going on this weekend, entrants for the Regional will only be allowed to park in parking area s 1 thru 4 (see attached parking map). You will not be allowed to hold spots for other competitors, so if you want a compound area, all of you will have to be there at the same time. Please plan accordingly. DRIVERS MEETING: All drivers must attend a mandatory Driver s Meeting on Saturday, August 11th @ 8:00 am. The Driver s Meeting will be held in front of the timing tower. FLAGS: Flags will be used as defined by the SCCA Time Trials rules and the Driver s Meeting. Lapping Competition Regulations COURSE: This event will use the Pittrace 2.78 mile Full Course. The course will be open for course walking Friday evening. Official times will be updated on the event page. START: Vehicles will be released from Pit Lane to a Yellow Flag condition. The start of each session will be signaled by a Green Flag at the Start/Finish line after a single warm-up lap. Warm up lap pace should be brisk to avoid traffic congestion. PIT LANE: The pit lane speed limit is 35mph. Pit Lane will remain open at all times during a session. Drivers may enter Pit Lane at any time and may rejoin the session after being released by a pit marshal. BLEND LINE: Please be aware of the pit out blend line that leads directly on to the track.. When exiting the pits, cars MUST stay left of this line. Violators may be asked to come into the pits for a reminder of the requirements. SCORING LINE: The official scoring line from which all times and finishes will be determined for Hot Lap sessions is located in front of the timing building and the Start/Finish flag stand.
SESSION END: Sessions will end with the passing of Start/Finish flag stand and receiving the Checkered flag. After receiving the Checkered flag ending the session, drivers will be given cool down under Yellow Flag condition to exit at drivers left of turn 18 onto Pit Road to enter the paddock. PASSING: During untimed sessions, passing will only be allowed in designated passing zones on the straits with a point-by ( Track Night Rules for those familiar). During the timed sessions, open passes may be made in the passing zones on the straits. Passing in the corners must be made with a point-by. Run Order / Groups Untimed session groups will be set by driver selection, with adjustments made by coaches as needed. The run order for the Saturday Time Trial Session one will be by class, starting with Sport classes and ending with Unlimited. Run order for the Sunday Time Trial session two will be set based on Saturday Time Trial times. Schedule Note: Timed lapping sessions will be approximately 20 minutes. Session length and start times may be adjusted. General Regulations TRACK LIMITS: Track limits will be enforced at this event. Track limits will be defined as paved track surface and adjacent curbing. HOT LAP COMPETITION: Drivers are expected to keep a portion of one tire inside track limits at all times. Drivers deemed to have exceeded track limits will have that lap disqualified and receive a verbal warning after the session. A second offense will result in disqualification from that session. Further offenses will result in exclusion from the event. OFF COURSE / LOSS OF CONTROL: Any vehicle leaving the paved course area with more than two wheels OR deemed to have a significant loss of control on course in a Hot Lap session shall self-report to the Pit Area for discussion with the event s drivers coach. If appropriate (and timely), the driver may proceed back on track after receiving appropriate signals the pit marshal. Drivers who do not self-report will be Black Flagged. DRIVER STANDARDS: Drivers are reminded that this event is not a wheel-to-wheel competition, but a competition of lap times. Drivers are expected the share the track surface and work together so that all drivers may perform to the best of their ability. Drivers deemed to have interfered with a competitor intentionally will be disqualified for that session. Further offenses will result in exclusion from the event. SESSION INTERRUPTION LAPPING SESSION: Drivers deemed to have caused a Black Flag or Red Flag condition for a driving error or mechanical issue will receive one warning. A second offense will result in exclusion from resuming that session. Further offenses will result in exclusion from the event. OTHER OPERATIONAL NOTES COMMUNICATIONS: Paddock announcements may be made via PA system and/or by FM radio transmission. The FM frequency is 88.1 on an FM radio..
SOUND CONTROL: Sound will be measured, and a limit of 103db will be in effect for this event. All vehicles will be monitored on drivers left between stations 17 and 18, and readings will be posted at the Driver information area on the first floor of the timing tower. Cars exceeding this limit will have any session in which they broke the 103 db sound limit scored as a DNF. TECH INSPECTION: Bring your completed self-tech inspection form to the Tech Garage. Tech sheets will be available at check-in. Note: A technical inspection resource will be on-site to help with any questions or concerns you have regarding your vehicle. SCALES: TBD RESULTS and TROPHIES: Official results will be available at Driver Information on the first floor of the timing tower after they are finalized by Timing & Scoring. Unofficial results may be available at driver information, and by Live Timing & Scoring. Trophies are TBD PASSENGERS: Passengers will not be permitted in any official Time Trial session. INCIDENTS: Any car damaged on track, and, which must be towed, will be delivered to the impound area and shall be released only after inspection by an Official. In the event that your vehicle suffers enough damage requiring removal from the course by a wrecker or tilt bed, the medical staff must examine the driver. Track Rules GARAGES: A limited number of enclosed garages are available for rent on a first come basis. Contact the track directly, for cost, (Pittsburgh International Race Complex. Phone #724-535-1000. Competitors arriving before 2:00 pm, on Friday, will be parked on the access road and will not be allowed thru the main gate until 2:00 PM. Workers will be allowed into the Track anytime. ELECTRICAL & PARKING: Some electrical hookups are available from the track for a fee, these hookups are on a first come basis, contract the track in advance to reserve one. Please do not park parallel to the main paddock roads, all parking is pull in or back in only FACILITY DAMAGE: If Steel Cities Region receives a bill for facility damage and repair, or equipment used or expended, or other services related to a competitor, and not covered by SCCA insurance, the competitor or competitors responsible will be billed by the region for the damages. Running of un-muffled or loud engines is prohibited between 8PM and 7AM. Pittsburgh International Race Complex is a multi-venue shared facility. All participants are subject to the Pittsburgh International Race Complex Track Rules and Regulations. Copies of the current Track Rules are available at www.pittrace.com and are posted at the track. Water, Compressed Air, and Racing fuel are the responsibility of Pittsburgh International Race Complex and are planned to be available at the track.
Pittsburgh International Race Complex Paddock speed limit is 5 MPH. Pittsburgh International Race Complex does not permit ATV's, Pit carts, or other motorized equipment or vehicles to be operated by anyone not holding a valid drivers license. All pit carts, scooters, atv s, golf carts, etc must have their car number and class marked on the vehicle for easy identification as to which car it belongs to, in case it has to be moved. No Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV s or Drones) may be operated by anyone over the Pittrace complex. Camping is permitted at the track. Arrangements should be made with the track s management. There may be a fee charged by PIRC. SCCA workers will not be charged a fee. There are no water or sewer hookups available. Both the bathrooms in the event center and the lower garages have shower facilities. Pittsburgh International Race Complex reserves the right to summarily remove anyone from the property who is found using controlled substances or is under the influence of alcohol, or for any other reasons they may deem necessary. COMPETITOR PARKING MAP * Please remember, to set up a compound for all your friends, you must all be there at the same time * Competitors may park in Area s 1B, 1C, and all of Area 2, some of Area 3 and all of Area 4. Some of the spots in Area 2A, 2B, 3, and 4A have electrical hookups for competitors who have rented power from the track, please contact the track early to reserve an electrical connection. Parts of Area 3 behind the garages are reserved for the Impound area, and are reserved for those competitors who have rented space in the lower garages. Please check before setting up your area.

Conveniently located where the PA Turnpike and Route 60 meet, 45 minutes from Downtown Pittsburgh and only 30 Minutes from Pittsburgh International Airport.
