About EPIC Adventures EPIC - Experiential Programs Inspiring Confidence. EPIC Adventures is an outdoor program that provides the EWU community with the opportunity to experience new outdoor activities. EPIC offers both weekend and day trips to fit your schedule and budget. We offer a variety of trips from dogsledding to whitewater river rafting and everything in between. EPIC, the program and staff prides itself on building confidence in and creating a welcoming community for students. In addition, student groups can make arrangments with EPIC to create a custom trip. For all information on the EPIC program including trips, sign-ups and trainings, please stop by the EPIC Adventures front desk located on the first floor of the University Recreation Center or give us a call at (509) 359-4014. Persons with special needs may make arrangements for accommodations by calling EPIC Adventures at (509) 359-4014 by 7 days prior to the trip date.

Loyalty Points Our trips are already inexpensive; perfect for the average university student s budget, and if you purchase Loyalty Points, they re even more affordable. If you spend $50-$200, each dollar you spend is worth 2 points ($100 = 200 pts). If you spend $201 or more, each dollar is worth 3 points ($201 = 603 pts). Pricing Trips, trainings and rental gear can be paid for with US Dollars, EWU Flex, Housing Bonuses or EPIC Adventure Loyalty Points on a points = dollars basis for any prics listed. *There are no refunds and all points will expire at the end of Spring Quarter 2017 *Trips are subject to location change due to weather. There are no refunds for change of location. There is a full refund for cancelled trips.

Trainings and Certifications Do you want to get paid to play? EPIC Adventures offers a variety of trainings to get you there. We strive to give everyone the best experience in the outdoors while actively managing risk. If you think nature is calling and would like to work for us, please stop by our front desk for more information or to pick up an application. Assistant Trip Leader Training Learn the basic technical and leadership skills it takes to lead groups in the outdoors. Dates: 10/28/16-10/30/16 Price: $50 Wilderness First Responder Course This rigorous wilderness medicine course will help prepare you to respond when things go awry in the backcountry. Required for EPIC Trip Leaders, this course is open to all, and comes with the potential of a certification through WMTC. Dates: 12/10/16-12/14/16 Price: $550 Top Rope Instructor Training Learn the skills necessary to be a well-prepared rock climbing instructor in a single-pitch enviroment. This course is geared towards climbers who are ready to lead others on top rope outings; considerable experience is required. Dates: April (TBD) Price: $100 Whitewater Raft Guide Training Learn how to guide a whitewater raft down class III rapids. With a focus on technical skills, group management and safety practices, this course is the first step towards becoming an EPIC Raft Guide and a licensed guide in Washington State. Dates: April (TBD) Price: $300 Advanced Raft Guide Training Designed for trained EPIC Adventures whitewater raft guides or anyone with equivolent experience, this course focuses on preparing candidates to be a lead guide or field supervisor. Dates: April (TBD) Swiftwater Rescue Course From swimming class III drops to technical rope systems for unpinning a stuck whitewater raft, this course covers the skills necessary to deal with problems on the river. EPIC Nights EPIC Adventures isn t just about going on outdoor trips. We also offer a variety of on campus programs and activities three nights a week. On Monday and Wednesday we offer bouldering sessions at the new climbing wall in a repurposed racquetball court. In the SRC we offer slacklining over the pool, stand up paddle boarding in the pool, open pool kayak sessions. Leadership labs and (weather permitting) freestyle ski and snowboard sessions are also offered.
