PRESIDENTS MESSAGE:. Tis the season for good cheer and celebration. From all the Members of the Twirler Board to everyone in the Club, come heartfelt wishes for a Very, Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season. Jackie & Bill TWIRLER BOARD NOTES: (There was no Board Meeting in November.) When the Board meets in December, there will be two important issues on its Agenda. 1. The future of the Club The Club is rapidly losing money. Attendance by other Clubs at our dances has dropped while our expenses for food, caller and cuer have remained constant and we were unable to attract a large enough class to offset the cost of our instructor. In addition, our Club membership is shrinking. Where do we go from here? What changes can we make to keep the Club going? If you have any ideas or suggestions, come to the Board meeting on December 12th or talk to or email a Board member. 2. Even more seriously, looking ahead to the 2017 2018 Twirler Board, some members of the current Board may be retiring. Besides other possible vacancies, the Browns will be retiring as president. We need to know before May if we will have a Board to continue guiding the Club in August. We especially need to know if someone is willing to take on the presidency. This will be a big consideration when planning the future of the Club. (If you would be willing to be president, please let us know) CLASS NOTES: We were so excited to see two of our class members at our November dance. Nancy Cole and Ann Kirchgessner did an excellent job dancing in all of the class tips. We hope you had fun. It s too bad the rest of the class couldn t make it. ROSTER ADDITION: Please add the following to your roster: Jerry Johnson & DiAnn Boykin-Johnson 20737 Provo Ct., Sun City CA 92586 Home: (951) 309-1643 Jerry s cell: (951) 216-4829 DiAnn s cell: (909) 648-8898 FUNDRAISER RAFFLE: Barbara Canfield has done it again. She has quilted another beautiful Christmas decoration for the Club to raffle at our December dance. It can be used as a wall hanging, a tablecloth or just draped over a chair or sofa to bring Christmas into your home. Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10 and can be purchased from the Treasurer at Workshops or the December dance. You do not have to be present to win.
