Welcome to the 4th Annual Over 60 s Cricket Carnival Sunday 19th - Thursday 23rd March 2017 2017 Carnival partner

Welcome... Welcome to the 4th Annual Over 60 s Carnival in Echuca/Moama and surrounding towns. The carnival has grown from 4 teams in our 1st year in 2014 to 15 teams this year which is outstanding growth in a short period of time and we re very grateful for the support of everyone that s been involved to help achieve that growth. All revenue raised from the carnival goes back into local junior cricket development and helps significantly to improve the facilities, equipment, participation and enjoyment for the players. This year there is a couple of exciting changes to the carnival with VOSCA and GMC joining forces to jointly organise and administer the carnival and also we ve started a new exciting partnership with Moama Bowling Club to host our events. Carnival Matches...

Playing Rules are as covered by the Laws of Cricket and as Modified by V.O.S.C.A., except for: The 40 Over Game (1) - Batsmen must retire after scoring 25 runs but may return to bat after all 12 batsmen have batted. Returning batsmen return in the same order as they retired. The batsman must permanently retire after scoring 40 runs. (2) - Minimum of 7 bowlers must be used. Bowlers to bowl a maximum of 6 overs. (3) - The bowling side may elect to bowl in 6 over spells from the same end, before changing ends. (4) - If the temperature is to be over 30 degrees the game, if the two captains agree, may be played in the format of both sides taking it in turns to bat 20 overs each for a total of 40 overs each. Drinks to be taken after 10 overs in this case. (5) - In any one over a maximum of only 2 balls can be bowled down the leg side. All balls in excess of 2 down the leg side will be declared No Balls. (6) - At all times there must be 3 three fieldsmen inside the 30 metre arc around the wicket. (7) - Wet day rules as per National Carnival: (8) - Wet Day Rules as per National Carnival i.e. (i) There is no game unless the team batting second has completed 20 overs. (ii) By using the enclosed target score calculation sheet, take the total overs faced by the second batting team and add together the runs scored from the same amount of highest scoring overs of the team batting first. Apply the % factor shown on the attached sheet to the total of the highest scoring overs. This is the target score. e.g. If the team batting second faces 27 overs: total the highest 27 overs scored off by the first team and then use the % factor as shown on the Calculation Sheet. This will equate to the target score. The T/20 Game (1) - Batsmen must retire at 12 Balls, and can make as many runs as possible during this time. If he has not made 30 in the first 12 balls he may return to bat after all 12 batsmen have batted. Returning batsmen return in the same order as they retired. The batsman must permanently retire after making 30. (2) - Minimum of 7 bowlers must be used. Bowlers can bowl a maximum of 3 overs. (3) - The bowling side may elect to bowl in 5 over spells from the same end, before changing ends. (4) - Drinks are to be taken after 10 overs.
