Reciprocal Members may utilize babysitting for $3 per hour. Parents must remain in the building at all times. On your first visit to a reciprocal Y bring your photo ID and your Smithfield Y Membership card with you! Some Y s may have restrictions, please call ahead. Go ahead, visit family all over New England and enjoy your Y Membership. Do you have Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicare Plan B Health Insurance? If so, ask the Smithfield Y if you are eligible for a $5 or $10 or membership through BCBS of RI! If not, you may be eligible for a $150.00 reimbursement from BCBS! It s simple, just bring in your health care card, a voided check or credit card for the automatic bank debit and inquire at the Courtesy Desk!

GUEST AND FACILITY POLICIES www.ymca1.org GUEST PASSES The purpose of our guest pass policy is to enhance member service to current members who are encouraging a friend to join or have an out of town visitor. Each membership is allotted 3 guest passes per year. Guests are limited to 3 visits per year. After that, we encourage guests to take out their own Y membership. PROGRAM CREDITS & REFUNDS There are no refunds on programs unless the YMCA cancels the program. Voluntary withdrawal from a program will result in a program credit ONLY. There are no refunds or program credits for swim lessons that are cancelled due to poor weather (thunder and lightning). If possible, contact the AD to schedule a make-up class. PROGRAM PARTICIPANT CARD Program Participants will not be given program cards anymore, however each program participant MUST check in at the Courtesy Deck upon arrival. Thank You! YMCA MEMBERSHIP POLICY There are NO refunds on YMCA memberships. If you would like to cancel your bank draft membership the Y requires 15 days written notice. You can simply complete a bank draft cancelation form at the Courtesy Desk or mail or fax a letter, requesting your cancelation. We MUST have your signature with a bank draft cancelation form. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES As a volunteer-based organization, the YMCA thrives on people helping people. The act of sharing, teaching, giving and working with others can bring new meaning to your life. PROGRAM Always Welcome at YMCA s...your YMCA membership is recognized in Y s worldwide, as participants in the AWAY Program. If you are visiting our YMCA from over a 50 mile radius, you are welcome to use our facility for up to 2 weeks for FREE with your Y Membership in your hometown. If you are traveling, please contact the Y you wish to visit for details. NEW ENGLAND RECIPROCITY As a member of the Smithfield Y, feel free to utilize any Y in New England when you travel or visit family and friends.

SMITHFIELD YMCA BEFORE SCHOOL PROGRAM The Before School Program is for Smithfield Elementary children in grades K - 5. This program is held at the Y and runs from 6:45 AM until the start of the school day. The Y will bus all children to their respective school each day. All busses are monitored by a YMCA School s Out Staff Member. Breakfast is served until 7:40 AM and varies between pancakes, fruit, smoothies, cereal, toast, waffles, etc. Children choose from quiet activities, board games, arts & crafts, outside play & homework help daily! Get to work on-time and rest assured that your child will have a healthy breakfast, release their energy and be prepared for the school day ahead! BEFORE SCHOOL FEES: 3 days per week $155.00/month Before & After $360.00/month 5 days per week $244.00/month Before & After $584.00/month **$30 Registration Fee per Family** *All School s Out Participants MUST be a Smithfield Y Member & pay through a monthly auto debit! SMITHFIELD YMCA AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM The After School Program is for Smithfield children grades K - 5. The program is held at Old County Road School. Children will have access to the gym, cafeteria, playground, basketball, foursquare courts & science trails! All counselors are First Aid, CPR and Child Abuse Prevention trained. OCRS students will be dismissed to Y staff and all other schools will be bussed to OCRS from their respective school, with a bus monitored by a Y School s Out Staff member. The latest pick-up time is 6:00 PM. The Y will provide snack, homework assistance, sports, crafts, supervised technology time for school projects, gymnasium play and outside playground time. AFTER SCHOOL FEES: 3 days per week $261.00/month Before & After $360.00/month 5 days per week $410.00/month Before & After $584.00/month **$30 Registration Fee per Family** *All School s Out Participants MUST be a Smithfield Y Member & pay through a monthly auto debit!

AQUATIC PRE-SCHOOL SWIM LESSONS SUMMER SESSION JULY 9 - AUGUST 25 Pre-school swim lessons are for children alone. There will be a maximum of 6 children per 1 swim instructor in each class. Some classes even have 2 swim instructors for up to 6 children. Children will progress through lessons at their own rate. Children will not pass or fail a level, however, they will move up when the instructor feels that they are ready. Each session of swim lessons runs for 7 weeks. Pick a day that works best for your schedule and you will attend that day and time for 7 weeks. Members/Non-Members: $68/$95 Pike (beginner) & Eel (intermediate) Ages 3-5 years Using a bubble children will explore the aquatic environment as we focus on confidence. Children will learn the basic steps of freestyle swimming, breaststroke & floating on their backs. AQUATIC YOUTH SWIM LESSONS SUMMER SESSION JULY 9 - AUGUST 25 Youth swim lessons are a child alone class for ages 6-14 years. Each level of swim lessons builds upon the preceding level. Children will progress through lessons at their own rate, and it is important to understand that children will not pass or fail a level, however they will move up when the instructor feels that they are ready. Members/Non-Members: $68/$95 Polliwog I & Polliwog II (beginner & advanced beginner) Ages 6-14 years Using a bubble to help children focus on stroke development, children will learn 3 of the 4 main strokes of swimming while practicing floating, flutter kicks, gliding & gaining confidence in the water. Friday 4:35-5:20 PM 9:00-9:45 AM 6:15-7:00 PM 6:00-6:45 PM 9:00-9:45 AM 9:00-9:45 AM 10:10-10:55 AM 11:30-12:15 PM Guppy, Minnow, Fish (intermediate & advanced intermediate) Ages 6-14 years Children in these levels should not wear any floatation device. Children will build endurance and must be able to swim 25-50 yards unassisted, consecutively. Children will perfect their freestyle stroke and begin dives & treading water. 4:35-5:20 PM 6:15-7:00 PM 6:00-6:45 PM 9:00-9:45 AM 10:10-10:55 AM Fish, Flying Fish, Shark (advanced intermediate & advanced) Ages 6-14 years Stroke development and endurance will be the focus of a fish, flying fish and shark level swim participant. The butterfly will also be introduced. Swimmers must be able to complete 100 yards consecutively and without resting. Endurance will increase and dives and technique will be assessed. 6:00-6:45 PM SMITHFIELD Y DOLPHINS SUMMER SWIM TEAM Does your child love swimming and has completed up to Minnow level of youth swim lessons? If so, the Summer Swim Team is a great opportunity for current swim team members to stay in shape and it s a perfect time for new swimmers to join the team! The Summer Season focuses on the 4 main strokes of swimming; front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. The season runs from July 10th through August 23rd. There will be 2-3 small meets. PARENT AND CHILD & ADULT SWIM LESSONS SUMMER SESSION JULY 9 - AUGUST 25 Waterbabies Ages 6 months - 24 months Waterbabies is designed to help parents and infants feel comfortable in the water while providing fun such as singing, water toys and interaction with other children. Parent/s must accompany child in the water. Depending on the age and size of the participant, bubbles are provided. 6:00-6:30 PM 10:15-10:45 AM 5:30-6:00 PM 11:00-11:30 AM Member/Non-Member $68/$95 Little Pikes Ages 3-4 years This transitional class is 7 weeks long. The first 3 weeks the parent will accompany the child to class and the last 4 weeks will be a child alone class. This is the last step to transitioning your toddler before they prepare for a Pike alone class. 10:15-10:45 AM 9:35-10:05 AM Member/Non-Member $68/$95 Pike with Parent Ages 24 months - 36 months Pike with Parent is designed to further your child s enthusiasm for the water and help both the parent and child feel comfortable in the aquatic environment. Almost all children will wear a bubble during this class and learn to float and swim independently of their parent. Toys and songs are incorporated for child interaction and fun! 6:00-6:30 PM 10:15-10:45 AM 5:30-6:00 PM 9:35-10:05 AM Member/Non-Member $68/$95 ADULT LESSONS Adult Lessons are for ages 18+. Some adults join so they can learn to swim and some adults join for stroke development & refinement techniques. AQUATIC PRIVATE LESSONS & PARTY RENTALS Private Swim Lessons Private swim lessons are designed to help children swim one- on- one with a qualified instructor. Semi- Private lessons are for up to two swimmers. All lessons are a half an hour each. Private Lessons must be paid for at the time of booking. All lessons must be scheduled through the Aquatic Director at ext 16. Private Lesson Fee Member/Non $20/$35 Semi - Private Lesson Fee Member/Non $35/$65 Create Your Own Lesson The Smithfield YMCA is offering a brand new opportunity for swim participants. It s simple and rewarding! Have you ever wanted to put your child in swim lessons but wished they could be with their friends, or do you wish you could socialize with your friends while your children enjoy lessons together? If so, this is the program for you! Gather a group of friends/relatives and call the Aquatic Director. We will schedule a group lesson during a time that YOU PICK! You can have a minimum of 3 children and a maximum of 6 children in a lesson! Member/Non $70 per child / $100 per child Make-Up Lessons Pre-School and Youth make-up lessons are for children who miss class due to illness ONLY. Make up classes must be scheduled with the Aquatic Director at 949-2480 ext 106. Make-ups are pending availability. Birthday Party Rentals Let the Smithfield YMCA host your next Birthday Party to keep the fun the same but the mess out of your house! Each party rental is provided with a Party Hostess and 1 lifeguard for up to 25 children (additional children will receive a 2nd lifeguard for an additional fee). The Party Hostess will set-up all the tables, chairs, food, refreshments and cater to any special requests that you may have. Parties are held on Sundays from 12:15-2:15 pm. Children will eat food, play any games you request and open gifts! All rentals must be paid in full at the time of reservation. Up to 1 Birthday Child may be added for a fee of $50. All parties will spend the first hour in the Pool swimming and the second hour of the party in the Party Room for food, cake and presents. For children ages 5 and below, there must be at least 1 adult per every 5 children in the pool. No outside floatation allowed. The Y will provide floatation for children. Members: $250 (up to 25 children) Members: $285 (over 25 children) Non-Member: $335 (up to 25 children) Non-Member: $375 (over 25 children)

Lap lanes are for lap swimmers only and Y aquatic equipment such as kickboards and barbells are to be used during Y Programs only. The Y provides 1, 2 and 3 bubbles for children that require flotation. No outside floatation is allowed! Please feel free to help yourself to a bubble. A complete list of Pool Rules are posted in the pool area and enforced by the lifeguards. Please, no food or drink in the pool area or the locker rooms. Pool Information The Smithfield YMCA s swimming pool is 25 yards long and 5 lap lanes wide with a depth of 3 feet, 6 inches in the shallow end and 10 feet, 6 inches in the deep end. One swimming mile is 1,650 yards which is equivalent to 66 lengths or 33 laps of the pool. Locker Room Information The Women s Locker Room is for Women ONLY. Anyone accompanying a child of the opposite sex must use the Family Locker Room. The Family Locker Room is designed specifically for that purpose. The Men s Locker Room is for men ONLY. Anyone accompanying a child of the opposite sex must use the Family Locker Room. The Family Locker Room is designed specifically for that purpose. The Family Locker Room is designed for parents and guardians with children. This locker room consists of 5 private changing rooms and 4 private bathroom stalls. Clothes MUST be worn in the common area at all times. *All adult & family swim times will have 2 lap lanes. The earliest Adult & Family times starting at 5:15 AM will have 3 lap lanes. Please note, some lap times are ONLY valid for certain dates.

SMITHFIELD YMCA FITNESS CLASS DESCRIPTIONS Strengthen & Stretch for Older Active Adults Join Nancy in this moderate cardio class that focuses on stretching, combined with light weights, for a full body workout for all ability levels. Get your morning started right and meet friends! *This class is great for older active adults and seniors! Fluid Fitness This low impact, high intensity water aerobics class is perfect for all fitness levels. Water barbells are combined with cardio exercises in this class held in the shallow end. F.Y.F. Find Your Fit - Alex will guide you through this morning workout using basic workout skills and incorporating them into a group fitness setting. Lunge, lift and squat your way to a new you! Cardio Kick Circuit A high intensity workout with Toni, utilizing all the major muscle groups to effectively burn calories & build muscle. This class helps improve balance and strengthens your core. Muscle Sculpt Combines kickboxing moves with weights for added resistance and muscle sculpting. This is a high paced class that is modified for all fitness levels. Senior Splash This low impact water aerobics class improves cardio fitness & is great for circulation, while building bone density and improving balance. Interval Training/Core Focus This fast-paced class includes high and low cardio intervals combined with kick boxing moves to tone and maximize burning fat and calories. 20 minutes at the end will focus just on the core. You WILL sweat! Pilates/Pilates on the Ball Pilates emphasizes the balanced development of the body through core strength and flexibility. Bring a workout/balance ball to Pilates on the Ball and you will feel muscles burning, flexibility increasing and your core working! (The Y does have a few balls if you would like to try a class & don t have a ball) Hatha Yoga on the Water & in the Park Hatha Yoga is appropriate for all levels. Students warm up with gentle breathing, stretching and centering exercises, followed by flowing postures. Class ends with a final relaxation and meditation. Yoga in the Park is held at the Pavilion at Deerfield Park and Yoga on the Water is held at The Lakes Condos on Putnam Pike - Ask the Courtesy Desk for directions! *If weather does not cooperate, Yoga will be held at the YMCA in the Activity Room! Water Works This is a medium to low impact class for all fitness levels. This high energy cardio blast class will get your heart pumping and your muscle moving for a complete body workout.
