Why survey? Assesses current single occupancy vehicle (SOV) rate and SOV miles rate Higher response rate = clearer picture of employees habits & preferences County may require a resurvey if response rate is below 60% percent Alternative to resurvey is statistical penalty, counting all non-respondents as SOVs 30 days to complete the survey 17
E-Survey vs. Paper Survey Specify e-surveys when you complete the employer report form Available for some or all employees AND STUDENTS Multiple entries from same computer OK Easy, better for the environment Saves time, energy and YOU from having to round up paper surveys 18
Survey Questions 1. Choose the appropriate work schedule. Note: Working part-time 3 days per week IS NOT A COMPRESSED 3/12 WORK WEEK. 2. Start and end time if it varies, average. 3. Modes for the days you commute to work 2 days drive alone, 3 days carpool, etc. 19
Summary Analysis Why is a high response rate good? What happens if the response rate is less than 60%? What do the SOV percentages mean? 20
Summary Analysis Page 1 Why is this data important? Can I use these numbers in my plan for Telework and Compressed Work Weeks? Why do I have to know about work schedules? 21
Summary Analysis Page 1 4. If Alternative Fuel Vehicle, select type 5. If carpool was selected in question 3, enter number of people in carpool 6. How many miles one-way, home to work? Use whole numbers 7. How many minutes each way? Again, use whole numbers 8. Select mode(s) you would consider using. 22
Summary Analysis Page 2 Why is commute distance and time important? What does this information mean in terms of my program? 23
Summary Analysis Page 2 How can I use this information when writing my plan? 24
