3 INTRODUCTION The Canadian Society of Club Managers (CSCM) is the only professional association in Canada that focuses specifically on clubs with the goal of creating great clubs and experiences through excellence in professional management. The Society has some 565 members and represents some 250 clubs from across the country. It is through CSCM that members can achieve their Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation, recognized internationally, through ongoing educational programs and exam. Members represent a wide variety of clubs from across the country, the majority coming from golf or golf and country clubs. City and dining, sports and racquet, yacht, curling and faculty / university clubs are also represented. We provide a variety of programs and services to members with an emphasis on professional development and resources that will assist the members in delivering the ultimate club experience to their club members. Conferences Each year CSCM hosts two national conferences, providing members with exceptional educational and networking opportunities. The National Food & Beverage Conference is typically held in the first quarter of the year, and the National Conference in early fall. 2018 National F&B Management Conference February 24 27 in Montréal, QC: Attendance at this conference is mostly clubhouse managers, chefs and F&B managers. The Conference is a 2.5 day event with representation from across the country. Recent conferences were in Victoria BC, Winnipeg MB, London ON, Saskatoon SK, and Richmond BC. Edmonton, AB will be the host city in 2019. 2018 National Conference, October 13 17, Halifax, NS: An average of 120 general managers and other senior level managers attend this conference for a high-quality education program and networking with their colleagues and suppliers within the Canadian club industry. We look to build on the success of previous conferences and expect the Halifax Conference will attract many members as we return to the East Coast for the first time in ten years. London, ON will host the 2019 National Conference. Few organizations have such a tight network of individuals where relationships are fundamental to their business relationships with their members, their colleagues, and their suppliers. As a supplier you need to be part of this network!

4 Facts to remember about clubs Clubs employ well over 30,000 people in full and part-time positions Clubs make purchases nearing an estimated $1 billion dollars per year Annual payroll is over $425 million It is estimated that Member Clubs serve well over 50 million covers per year Gross revenues for all clubs is estimated to be in excess of $1 billion annually Clubs inject well over $500 million into their surrounding communities annually for the purchase of goods and services.
