TRACK PROCEDURES 2018 RACE DAY (1) Pit gates will officially open at 3:00pm for regular programs. Big shows will have earlier opening times. Hauler parking may be available approximately 1 hour prior to pit gates opening. (2) Registration for all competitors is the responsibility of their race team. It will be at the base of the pit tower and should be completed immediately upon arrival. Registration will end as follows: Mini Stock ½ hour prior to race time ( 6:00pm ) Pro Stock, Sportsman and Modified 10 min. Prior to race time ( 6:20pm ) If you are not on time, you may be excluded from running a heat race but will able to participate in a B Main. If no B Main you will be added to the feature event. (3) A SCHEDULE OF EVENTS for each weekly show will be posted on the Cornwall Speedway web site and on our Facebook Page prior to the show date. It will also be posted at the registration booth. (4) A drivers meeting for all classes will be held at the Pit Tower 1 hour prior to race time. (5:30pm). (5) Warm-ups for Pro Stock, Sportsman Modified and Tour Classes will be held 45 min. prior to race time (5:45pm). (6) A handicap system for heat and feature lineups will be used in all racing classes, except on opening night and series events. See Appendix A (7) Heat and consolation ( B Main) races will be set up using Cornwall Speedway Line Ups Chart. See Appendix B Heat races will be the following lengths: o Mini Stock...6 Laps o Sportsman and Pro Stock...8 Laps o Modified...10 Laps (8) All drivers must be ready to compete and have their race cars on the line before each event enters the track or they will be sent to the rear of the field. (9) No crew members are allowed on pit road unless approved by a race official. At no time are crew members allowed on the race track except for prerace and winner circle ceremonies.

(10) Any race car not maintaining their assigned position for any reason, once past the pit gate, must go to the back of the field, even if the race has not started. This includes parade laps. (11) Race cars that miss their assigned heat will not run in any other heat, they must go to the B Main or will be added to the back of the feature. (12) All race cars will enter the pits by the entrance situated off turn 3. All race cars will exit the pits from the turn 4 gate. (13) All initial starts and restarts will take place within the WIRED AUDIO zone, in corner 4, designated by two WIRED AUDIO signs, when the flagman waves the green flag, the leader shall fire first. Initial starts and restarts will be double file. If there is a caution in the last 3 laps, restarts will be single file format. (14) Heat winners, after a cool down lap, shall stop at the flag stand for a photograph with the checkered flag. Heat bonus points will be awarded as follows: o 1 st place...5 points o 2 nd place...4 points o 3 rd place...3 points o 4 th place...2 points o 5 th place...1 points o 6 th to 12 th place...0 points (15) Feature Race length will be posted in the Schedule of Events on cornwallspeedway.com and on our Facebook page prior to race day. (16) Feature races will have a maximum of 24 race cars except for special events (17) Feature points will be awarded for all events, except the Big Block show, as per the DIRTcar rule book based on the 60 points system. All competitors who register and attempt to qualify but fall to make the feature event will be awarded last place points. (20) Big Block event 70 track points will be awarded to all competitors who registered and attempt to qualify. Double handicap points (140) will be added to any competitor who doesn t attempt to qualify for this event. Draper Doors Canadian Nationals Series & Race for the Cure Sportsman Series Both Series will run a separate point system using the 100 points systems, regular points will be awarded toward the track championship during these events. Track Championship (18) The track championship shall be determined based on the points earned on each and every race night. This includes tour and series races. The competitor with the most points will be crowned champion. The points fund and prizes will be awarded at the annual banquet held the following spring. Recipients must be present at the banquet to receive cash prizes.

(19) Modified, Sportsman and Pro Stock Heat Point Championship Points earned from all heats during the season, except the Big Block races, will be tabulated and a heat point champion will be crowned for these classes. (20) Rookie of the Year Modified, Sportsman and Pro-Stock A rookie, in any class at Cornwall Speedway, is a competitor who has not raced in more than a total of 6 events in the previous years in that class of race car at any DIRTcar sanctioned track; Has not completed a full season in a higher division (358 or Big Block Modified); Has advised Cornwall Speedway officials, during registration, of their intent to compete for Rookie of the Year prior to July 1 st. Mini Stock Has not raced in more than a total of 6 events in the previous years in that class of race car at Cornwall Motor Speedway, Mohawk International Speedway, Brockville Ontario Speedway or the now closed Autodrome Edelweiss; Has not completed a full season in a higher division. Has advised Cornwall Speedway officials, during registration, of their intent to compete for Rookie of the Year prior to July 1st. Cornwall Speedway will have final authority on eligibility for the Rookie of the Year award. (21) RULES 358 Modified, Sportsman and Pro Stock will follow the DIRTcar rule book. You may view or download them from www.cornwallspeedway.com or pick up a copy at the Cornwall Speedway office. Each race team will be responsible for all its members including driver, pit crew and family members while in the pit area. (22) DISCIPLINARY ACTION LEVEL 1 Any driver, crew member or family member involved in any minor infractions during the race program may be dealt with by way of a verbal warning, written warning (probation) and/or fines up to $200.00. LEVEL 2 Any driver, crew member or family member committing any infraction while on probation, who previously received LEVEL 1 disciplinary action or any infractions involving leaving their designated pit area and going over to another team, disrupting the race program or making threats or gestures will be dealt with by a fine between $200 $ 300 and possible suspension from the speedway. LEVEL 3 Any driver, crew member or family member involved in any physical contact or intent to cause injury or damage anywhere on Cornwall Speedway property or who previously received LEVEL 2 disciplinary action will be dealt with by way of a fine between $300 & 500 and possible suspension from the speedway and may be required to post a performance bond with the Speedway before returning to race.

NOTE: Any altercation (contact, excessive speed, careless driving) involving a moving racecar in the pit area will result in nightly disqualification and/or suspension & fines. At a minimum, the competitor will be placed at the rear of the field for the feature event. Any driver or team members attending the "Official's Main Tower" (grandstands) during an event will result in an automatic suspension and/or fines to the involved team. All inquiries shall be reported to the Pit Tower only and will be relayed via radio to the Main Tower for appropriate action(s) if needed. All levels of disciplinary action will be decided by the Director of Race Operations in a fair and just manner. The above may be superseded by the DIRTcar Rulebook disciplinary procedures. (23) SUBSTANCE ABUSE POLICY Cornwall Speedway considers the safety of all competitors, their team members, the officials and the fans as the utmost priority. Alcohol is not permitted in the pit area during the race program. (Pits opening till final checkered flag). Illegal use of drugs is not permitted on the property at any time. Violating either of these rules will cause your immediate expulsion from the premises. Any driver deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs while competing will be dealt with as a Level 3 offender. (24) CONTACTING THE SPEEDWAY General inquiries, track rental & season ticket purchases. The speedway office is open Monday to Friday 10:00am to 3:00pm during the race season, May through September excluding holidays. The Director of Race Operations will be available prior to and immediately following the race event or can be reached by email at joeldoiron@cornwallspeedway.com (25) RULE BOOK DISCLAIMER THE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS SET FORTH HEREIN ARE DESIGNED TO PROVIDE FOR THE ORDERLY CONDUCT OF RACING EVENTS AND TO ESTABLISH MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCH EVENTS. THESE RULES SHALL GOVERN THE CONDITION OF ALL EVENTS, AND BY PARTICIPATING IN THESE EVENTS, ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE DEEMED TO HAVE COMPLIED WITH THESE RULES. NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OR SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. THEY ARE INTENDED AS A GUIDE FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE SPORT AND ARE NO WAY A GUARANTEE AGAINST INJURY OR DEATH TO A PARTICIPANT, SPECTATOR OR OFFICIAL. THE RACE DIRECTOR SHALL BE EMPOWERED TO PERMIT MINOR DEVIATION FROM ANY OF THE SPECIFICATIONS HEREIN OR IMPOSE ANY FURTHER RESTRICTIONS THAT IN HIS OPINION DO NOT ALTER THE MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE REQUIREMENTS. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH AN ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. ANY INTERPRETATION OR DEVIATION OF THESE RULES IS LEFT TO THE DISCRETION OF THE OFFICIALS, THERE DECISION IS FINAL.

APPENDIX A HANDICAPPING 1. All races in all classes will be handicapped except opening night, tour and series events. 2. Handicap points will be issued based on the track points earned in the last three races at Cornwall Speedway. 3. Any competitor who was absent for one or more of those race events will be awarded 70 handicap points for each missed race event. 4. Any competitor who is disqualified or penalized points in any race will be awarded handicap points equivalent to finishing first in that race 5. Heat line ups will be set with the lowest handicapped competitor staring on the pole in the first heat. The rest of the competitors will be placed in ascending order putting the competitor with the highest handicap last in the final heat. 6. The feature handicap system will use a 2/3 rd format. The qualified competitors will be lined up with the lowest handicap points on the pole. The remaining qualified competitors lined up in ascending order with the highest competitor starting approximately 2/3 rd from the front. All non-qualified competitors or those who qualify through consolation events will be added to the back of the field in ascending order based on their final position in qualifying. Cornwall Speedway reserves the right to add non-qualified competitors to the race. Any such additions will be at the rear of the starting field.
