Notre Dame, 87-61, in the national semifinals in Nashville, Tennessee. For the second-straight year, Mount St. Mary s accepted a bid into the WNIT tournament, dropping a first round tournament game to Duquesne, 62-52. George Washington and East Carolina met in the first round of the WNIT Tournament, with the Colonials advancing over the Pirates in an 86-68 decision. George Washington went on to advance to the third round, dropping a game to South Florida on Thursday, March 27 (74-59). HOME SWEET HOME Loyola is 272-228 all-time at home. Head coach Joe Logan has led the team to a 67-60 overall record on the home hardwood, in 10 seasons. Loyola returned to Reitz Arena after playing every game in the month of November on the road. On the flip side, the Greyhounds hosted seven-straight home games in December. FOR STARTERS Led by Colleen Marshall s 28 points, Loyola s starting five (Marshall, Bri Betz-White, Lisa Mirarchi, Steph Smith and Jeneh Perry) scored 59 points, and several of them were key during the first half when the Greyhounds ended the period with a one-point lead against William & Mary in the season opener. The 2013-14 Patriot League All-Rookie Team selection, Mirarchi scored the first basket of the 2014-15 season. Three possessions later, rookie guard Betz-White set the tone for the Greyhounds, scoring her first career points by grabbing an offensive board and pulling it back behind the arc for the team s first 3-point field goal of the contest. The squad went on to record 10 total treys, tied for seven most in program single-game history. The starters also contributed 19 of the Greyhounds 26 rebounds with Perry leading the team with 13. She was one point shy of recording her first career double-double. MARSHALL MATTERS Junior Colleen Marshall led Loyola s scoring effort in the season opener, recording a then career-high 28 points against William & Mary on Friday, Nov. 14. The junior transfer from East Carolina University, previously scored a career-high nine points against the United States Naval Academy on November 30, 2012. The last time a Loyola newcomer had 20 or more points in the Greyhounds first game of the season was on November 28, 1995, when Jennifer Bongard scored 24 points at then Towson State. NOT YOUR AVERAGE JOE Head coach Joe Logan enters his 10th season at the helm for the Greyhounds, with a 133-166 career record. He has led Loyola to two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title games, and a WNIT invitation in 2009. With a 67-54 win at Siena College on January 7, 2012, Logan picked up his 101st win to record more wins than any other head coach in Loyola women s basketball history. Logan has led Loyola to two 20-plus win seasons in his tenure, including tying a program record 21 wins in 2010-11. On Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, Logan guided Loyola to its 500th program victory. He was a part of 40.6 percent of the 500 wins, including his 10 years at the helm of the Greyhounds and his four years as an assistant coach for head coaches Pat Coyle (1997-98) and Cindy Anderson (1998-01). Logan is assisted by Ryan Gensler, Sarah Jones, Katie Kuester and director of basketball operations Erin Shields.
