Cindy is supervising what I do, as I do not want to cause damage to my health while losing weight. Each year, I allow myself to enjoy the Christmas season and then go on a SERIOUS weight loss drive in January. Low carbs works best for me, but Cindy has many ideas that help and she makes some great drinks that serve as snacks in between my low carb meals. While this program works well for me, I do recommend the weight loss challenge that Cindy offers. It really works and also makes the loss of weight FUN, as you are in a program with other members. After all, misery loves company. Seriously, research reveals that MOST people need help staying on a diet or a workout program and Cindy has a perfect plan to help you achieve your goals. Give Cindy a call and she will fill you in on all the details. Good luck and by the time you receive this newsletter, I will have achieved my goal for 2017. ~Cecil Spearman
ONE MAN S OPINION As we start 2017, I want to share some of our goals for the year. Our number one goal for 2017 is to increase the value of being a member of a Spearman Club. To achieve that goal, we will increase customer service for all members. We will improve member service by selecting the very best employees to work at your club and by training them to be able to provide outstanding service. We are a small company but we operate our clubs in the operations standards I learned as a corporate executive for 25 years. We plan carefully and develop a profit plan that is our guiding light all year. We assign a strategic plan to each club and we ask the clubs to manage by objective, that means the clubs must select an object for the year and must select five goals to pursue. The goals must have numbers and dates to qualify as a goal. Once a profit plan is in place and an objective has been selected, we hold monthly results meeting with club management to measure the results against the profit plan. We also measure success against our strategic plan. If we are not on target to achieve the profit plan and the strategic plan, we take action where changes are needed to achieve our goals. This year, we will be working hard to improve customer service. The measurement of success will be the amount of member cancellations. We have the cancellations for the last few years. We will be measuring current year versus prior years to determine our success in achieving this major goal. We believe in participation management among our management staff. I also believe in members helping us operate our clubs in a member friendly manner. Thus, please feel free to email me or call me anytime you feel we can improve our member service. We will also continue to keep our facilities in great repair. We are willing to invest in facility renovation as we own the land and improvements and we are not faced with lease terminations. We will be sharing our goals and plans with you as the year progresses and please feel free to contact me any time you have a question about our service or facility maintenance. Cecil Spearman CEO SPEARMAN CLUBS, INC. I just got back from watching Cassidy and the Mizou tennis team play at Cal Berkley. I can t believe she is a senior and is almost done with her college career. We have two other seniors that also have played at the highest level division one and will graduate in May. Alyssa Smith, Dana Hills standout and now standout at Duke and Jessica Perez, Dana Hills standout and LMU number 1. Both have flourished after stellar high school seasons that made them stronger for Div 1 tennis. What intrigues me the most about this is the amount of work these athletes put in off the court. Of course the on-court has been the base of their career, but the off-court work now is amazing. I see this more and more in athletes and the off-court training for every sport is far more important. Take Roger Federer for example, the GREATEST OF ALL TIME!! His Australian Open performance was short of a miracle. His age didn t deter him from winning his 18th Grand Slam. Instead, he worked harder, got leaner, got stronger, and got mentally ready to challenge all obstacles. How does this correlate with our clubs. I firmly believe that you re never to old or out of shape to make your life better. Out clubs offer so much to make you feel like a grand slam champion or Spartan race winner or qualifier. Our tennis programs offer more for everyone - beginner or open level player. Our fitness department has boot camps, Fit Zones and all classes for the novice to advanced to help you improve your levels of fitness. I hope that all members will take advantage of our tennis programs and fitness programs. My staff is here to help you achieve your goals!
