8. Participation: This Asian Judo Championships 2017 is open for all JUA Member Federations. Per Federation a maximum of 2 (two) competitors per weight category can compete, but not exceeding the total number of 9 men & 9 women. Accreditation & Control of Nationality At least one team official and maximum two must attend the accreditation before May 25, Thursday 12:00 in order to confirm the delegation. Without this confirmation in time, a nation will not be put into draw and will not be allowed to compete. Each Head of Delegation must be present during the control of participants. Passports or photocopies of passports from all competitors must be available on request (National ID Card showing nationality and date of birth or a copy is also accepted). The competitors must not be present at the nationality control. An accreditation card with a photograph will be issued to competitors and officials. 10. Inscription Fees For individual competition an inscription fee of US$ 100 per weight category and for team competition an inscription fee of US$ 500 per team have to be paid to the JUA General Treasurer: JUDO UNION OF ASIA at the control of nationality and entry of participants 11. JUDOBASE Registration All participants and delegates must be registered for this event in the IJF Registration System (JUDOBASE): https://admin.judobase.org/ Deadline for JUDOBASE Registration is Sunday, May 2th 2017. Weigh-in Official weigh-in for each weight category is held the evening before the competition day (see programme). Athletes must present their accreditation card and his/her passport (National ID Cards showing nationality and date of birth are also accepted). Official scales will be available for test weigh-in on Friday and Saturday from 08:00 22:00 (except during official weigh-in from 20:00-20:30). Random weight checks with the same rules as the official weigh-in can be organized before the first contests in the morning of the competition. The weight of the athlete cannot be more than 5% higher (without Judogi) than the official maximum weight limit of the category. 14. Competition Mode Competition system: Elimination (KO) system with the quarterfinal (last 8) repechage. The competition will be carried out according to the rules and sporting codes of the IJF and JUA. 15. Draw The draw will take place on Thursday at 15:00 at Crowne Plaza. Each National Federation must send at least one (1) delegate to attend the draw. A maximum of two (2) delegates per National Federation will be authorized. The top eight (8) from the entered competitors in each weight category will be seeded according to the current IJF World Ranking List. Dress code: Jacket suit with tie. 16. Refereeing Nominated Referees only, by JUA Refereeing Director. The meeting of the referees will be held on Thursday immediate after draw at Crowne Plaza. For all referees the attendance at the referee meeting is strictly compulsory. Dress code: Jacket suit with tie. 17. Coaching All coaches must fully adhere to the Code of Conduct for Judo Coaches. Dress Code: Draw: Jacket suit with tie Elimination rounds: National track suit with trousers reaching down to shoes or jacket suit with tie Final block: Jacket suit with tie 18. Judogi Control Approved Judogi All Judoka must compete in IJF Approved Judogi with red label. Judogis from all IJF suppliers are allowed (see www.ijf.org Official Supplier List). Judogi Control It will be operated with a Sokuteiki prior to the fight. Each of the competition clothing articles (jacket, trousers and belt) must have the official IJF label, which will be controlled with an optical lamp (coloured belts do not have to have the IJF label). The jacket and the trousers must be of the same brand (belt can be of a different brand).
Backnumber Each competitor taking part in the JUA events is obliged to have sewn on the back of his Judogi the official backnumber (both JUA and IJF are allowed) bearing his surname and his National Olympic Committee abbreviation. The backnumber can be ordered from www.mybacknumber.com or www.ijfbacknumber.com (Attention: production and delivery may take around 4 weeks). The SPONSOR part (if needed) will be given to the head of delegation during registration, and the athletes can stick it themselves using the special glue on the back number. Markings and Advertising The space on the shoulder stripes (25cm x 5 cm on both right and left side) and on the upper arms (10cm x 10cm on both right and left side) can be either used for JUA Suppliers or for own sponsors of the Federation or Judoka, BUT not for any other Judogi supplier. The space on the right chest (5cm x 10cm) can be used by federations and their Judoka for their own sponsors. The logo of a Judogi brand can only be used, if it corresponds with brand of the Judogi itself and if it is of an IJF Supplier. Please note: On all advertising spaces it is strictly prohibited to promote tobacco, alcohol, any substances listed in the doping code, or any product or service contrary to public morals. The space on the left chest (10cm x 10cm) can be used for the national colours or the national emblem corresponding with the IOC code on the backnumber (regional emblems are not allowed). All other markings on the Judogi, like Judogi brand logos, name of Judoka, etc. have to comply with the IJF Judogi Rules. Detailed information is available on http://www.ijf.org/ Important: If an athlete does not respect the Judogi rules, the athlete will not be permitted to pass the Judogi Control, and the coach who is responsible for the athlete will be suspended for the rest of the competition day. 19. Responsibility of Federations The competitors will compete under the full responsibility of their federations. Each national federation is responsible for insuring its competitors against injury and third party risk (public liability) during the period of the tournament. The Judo Union of Asia and the organizer decline all responsibility. 20. Insurance Each National (Regional) Federation / Association will assume all responsibility for accident and health insurance as well as the civil liability for their contestants and officials. The Judo Union of Asia, the Organizing Committee of the Asian Judo Championships 2017, and The Judo Association of Hong Kong, China will not be responsible for any claims of illness, injury and death, of any participants/officials whatsoever. Nevertheless the National (Regional) Federation / Association staging the Asian Judo Championships 2017 shall take all necessary actions to provide insurance coverage against civil liability for the entire duration. 21. Land Transport The organizing Committee will provide transport from ( Hong Kong International Airport ) Airport to officials Hotels upon arrival and to airport on departure, During the Asian Judo Championships 2017, transportation will be provided between the venue and hotel at predetermined times and schedules. 22. Anti Doping The Gold Medal Winner and another drawn Medalist from each weight category have to undergo the doping control.
