Daffodils are Springing Up 2013 Daffodil Show Report On March 30, 2013, the Greater St. Louis Daffodil Society s annual daffodil show, Daffodils are Springing Up was held at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, MO. The horticulture, photography, and design displays were all shown in the Beaumont Room. There were 11 people who entered the Design Division of the 2013 Daffodil Show, "Daffodils are Springing Up". Of these, 9 were adults and 2 were youths. Best Adult Design was won by Kim Peterson for her design in class 1, "A Walk Down the Garden Path." There was no Adult Sweepstakes winner, as the blue ribbons were passed around to several people. Beth Holbrooke took first place in class 2, "In Your Easter Bonnet;" Suzanne Raymond won first in class 3, "April Showers;" and Jim Morris was awarded first in class 4, "A Little Bit of Sun, a Little Bit of Rain." In the youth classes, Gracey Raymond won Best Youth Design in class 6, "A Birdie with a Yellow Bill" and also took Youth Design Sweepstakes as she also had a blue ribbon in class 5, "Here Comes Peter Cottontail." Macy Bader won two blue ribbons, one in class 5 and one in class 6. This was Macy's first effort at flower arranging and she did a very good job. She was also very helpful helping set up the design properties for the show. Thanks, Macy.
