Vacufill MACHINE FOR FAST, ECONOMICAL AND EFFECTIVE COOLANT EXCHANGE, THE VACUFILL, WHILST UNDER VACUUM REFILLS THE COOLING SYSTEM IN SECONDS TM autoclimate
Clean simple way to reduce air locks Vacufill - Quick, Easy, Clean Suitable for most vehicles The Vacufill is a coolant exchanger designed for ease of use based on the use of compressed air. With simple knob controlled operations, the process of coolant exchange can now be completed in 15 minutes in a non labour intensive fashion. Suitable for most vehicles with an expansion tank, overflow tank or overflow pipe-based systems, it comes supplied with a range of adapters. The Vacufill does not require vehicle hoses to be cut or disconnected saving the cost of replacement parts and potential lost labour time. Refills in seconds Fast, efficient and low cost to operate, the Vacufill s built-in vacuum function will test cooling systems for leaks. Whilst the system is under vacuum, fresh pre-mixed coolant can be drawn into the system. This process means no airlocks and a more successful service, in a clean simple manner. Perfect for coolant checks Included in the Vacufill packages are Accustrips and a refractometer, creating the perfect combination for annual anti-freeze checks and antifreeze replacement. The refractometer will display the amount of protection afforded by the coolant (temperature based) whilst the Accustrips give an indication of how effective the coolant will be against corrosion to the system. Additional Revenue The Vacufill also offers a great up-sell opportunity for any workshop and adds an additional revenue stream which is ever vital in today s competitive environment. Test repaired systems Accident repairers can benefit greatly from using the Vacufill. Recovery, storage and refilling become one simple operation, allowing the repairer to use the same coolant recovered and saving on the cost of new replacement coolant.
Safe and low cost operation for long service life The Importance of Purging Trapped Air Airlocks The Problems A vehicle cooling system containing an airlock can trigger a lot of problems, including erratic temperature gauge readings, engine overheating, and poor heater performance. Small amounts of trapped air often work their way out of a cooling system after a day or two of driving, but unless a vehicle s cooling system is designed to be selfbleeding, you need to take special steps to purge trapped air from the cooling system whenever the system is opened for service. The main reason for introducing airlocks to the cooling system is when fresh coolant is added, in the vast majority of cases this will be after new replacement parts have been fitted. Remember airlocks can cause under performance of the coolant system which leads to faster corrosion of parts, so filling with the Vacufill when under vacuum eliminates this risk. Modern Cooling Systems Many of today s passenger cars are designed with heaters positioned higher than the rest of the cooling system. This leads to air pockets tending to collect in the heater circuit. Unfortunately, many engines with bleed screws have the bleed points positioned lower than the heater. Engine-mounted bleed screws help prevent airlocks within the engine block and heads, but they may not help when it comes to purging trapped air from the heater core. An easy to use solution All existing refill procedures are complicated, time consuming and very messy. This can be eliminated with the Vacufill which is simple and safe to use. When a Vacufill is supplied by Autoclimate, one of our engineers will arrange an install date and show up to 6 technicians how to operate the unit (1 hour training session) giving users the confidence to operate the unit in the correct manner. Supplied with everything you need to begin coolant exchange More than just cooling The Purpose The main purpose of an engine s cooling system is to remove excess heat from the engine. Removing excess heat helps to keep and maintain the engine at its most efficient operating temperature. Ideally, the cooling system keeps the engine running at its most efficient temperature no matter what the operating conditions are. Additional Benefits A water and antifreeze mix also adds additional protection benefits. Protection against freezing prevents any ice damage to the system such as cracked pipes, whilst in high temperatures the boiling point is raised to prevent any boil over and ultimately engine seizure. More importantly inhibitors in the antifreeze protect the engine all year round against corrosion. Antifreeze Temperature control The correct use of antifreeze within a cooling system significantly reduces the temperature at which the coolant freezes, reducing the risk of damaging components. A 50/50 ratio of water to antifreeze provides protection from freezing down to a chilling -34 C. On the other side we know that water boils at 100 C, but adding Antifreeze increases the boiling point of the coolant to 135 C. Corrosion Antifreeze contains rust/corrosion inhibitors to prevent component corrosion, but these chemicals lose their effect after a number of years, which is why antifreeze needs to be changed periodically (advised every 5-6 years). Cavitations, corrosion, water pump failure, scale formation and inefficient heat transfer problems are related to incorrect concentrations or degraded engine coolant/antifreeze. Vacufill Solution The Vacufill comes with all equipment necessary to make sure a coolant system is performing to the correct specifications, preventing issues with cooling systems.
Recover, vacuum test and refill cooling systems in just 15 minutes Vacufill, improving coolant performance Accustrips As the antifreeze corrosion inhibitors degrade the coolant will become more acidic. It is the acidity that causes problems within the cooling system and causes corrosion. Simply restoring the correct ph balance will help prevent the risk of corrosion. The Accustrip is dipped into the vehicles coolant and then measured against the indication chart on the bottle. The refractometer can also be used after a coolant exchange to note the improvement in the temperature protection. Coolant Refilling A methodology has been adopted to ensure when refilling coolant we achieve a result that will at the very least always improve the coolant performance. Refractometer A refractometer will take a sample of the vehicles coolant and tell you the level of protection that the coolant gives in terms of temperature. Anywhere outside the desired temperature range indicates that a new mix of coolant is required. For more information 0345 50 50 900
R.A.P.S Approved Product All the staff that use this have good comments - MDS Tried and Tested RAPS (Repairer Approved Product Scheme) provides a new level of accreditation for products. RAPS gives a selection of repairers the opportunity to test products before they are released by Autoclimate for general sale. Autoclimate will only sell the product if it passes the RAPS test. It is Autoclimate s belief that RAPS is a standard which can be trusted by repairers, because it is set by repairers. A growing relationship First introduced to the UK in 2009 for a closed distribution arrangement, Autoclimate are now able to supply the Vacufill to all Franchised Dealer workshops, independent garages and accident repair centres. The Vacufill has a proven track record of being a reliable and robust piece of equipment. It is, according to its manufacturers, the most economical machine of its type and is available through Autoclimate who are the sole UK distributor of the product. Saving Labour Time The most common practice of removing a bottom hose, draining the system, refilling and then allowing the engine to run, can take approx. 45 minutes, or more of a technician s time. Unfortunately, not only are you running the risk of potentially having to replace the pipe if damaged, but losing further time having to fit it. The Vacufill makes the entire process, from start to finish only 15 minutes and the technician only has to attend at key stages. So not only do you have the confidence that the system is airlock free but you also save 30 minutes labour time time which could be spent earning the workshop more money. Great Profit making potential The Vacufill scored 83.4% in the R.A.P.S test process See review comments online at autoclimate.com
