Work Experience 1978 2002 Police Officer for the City of Birmingham Alabama, assigned to accident investigation / Freeway patrol for most of career. 1974 1978: Truck Driver for Street and Sanitation Department, City of Birmingham, Alabama. Primary responsibilities: 1980 1986: Responsible for handling of all situations that occurred on the Interstate system within the city limits of Birmingham, Alabama; and investigation of fatal or serious injury traffic accidents occurring within the city limits of Birmingham, Alabama, on my assigned shift. I was also assigned to assist the City Law Department on cases involving vehicular crashes, and to assist the District Attorney with Traffic Homicide prosecutions. 1989 2002: Investigation of all traffic accidents, whether minor or serious, including fatalities, which occur during my shift within my assigned precinct, and assisting other precincts with fatal or otherwise complicated collision investigations. 1994 2002 Responsible for preparing, and instructing both entry level and Advanced inservices, Accident/ Fatality investigation schools for the Birmingham Police Department. Also investigation of all traffic accidents, whether minor or serious, including fatalities, which occur during my shift within my assigned precinct, and assisting other precincts with fatal or otherwise complicated collision investigations. 2002 2016 Police Officer, City of Fultondale, Alabama Other Accomplishments I have investigated Thousands of traffic accidents, including hundreds of fatal / serious injury accidents. I wrote a procedure for fatality investigation that was later (1987) used as the nucleus of the policy for the Birmingham Police Department. I rewrote the policy and procedure in 1998. I assisted in research and preparing training material and policy for Blood Seizure Following Traffic Collisions for Birmingham Police Department I have prepared training data and policy for handling collisions involving Commercial Vehicles in view of the state Commercial Vehicle implied consent law. I wrote a policy for Fultondale Police Department on investigation of fatal crashes and assisted Jefferson County Alabama Sheriff s Department in drafting a policy and forming a response team for the investigation of fatal crashes. I appeared as the "Expert Witness" at a Moot" trial for the American Board of Trial Advocates "The Masters in Trial" on two occasions: 12/3/92 The Honorable William J.
