For license information check out Montana Fish Wildlife & Parks. WALK & WADE FLY FISHING TRIP We offer single or multi-day walk and wade fly fishing on the E Bar E Ranch just 5 minutes from Big Timber, Montana. The ranch offers 5 miles of private Yellowstone River frontage. Big Timber has a fabulous historic hotel, The Grand Hotel, where you might want to have a few libations, a gourmet dinner and a comfortable nights rest after a hard day of fishing. If you want to fish for a couple of days, we have private land access to both the upper and the lower Boulder River and several spring creeks in the area including exclusive rights to a small spring creek just north of Big Timber. For the angler that loves to walk & wade fish these private land ranches offer solitude and easy access to the rivers and creeks. WALK & WADE FLY FISHING TRIP DATES Peak season is June through September. However, due to our many fishing options we have the ability to provide productive fishing year round. TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS WALK & WADE FLY FISHING TRIPS You will need to make hotel reservations for your stay in either Bozeman or Big Timber, depending on your fishing destination. You will be picked up early in the morning from your hotel on the day of your walk & wade trip and returned to your hotel in the late afternoon or early evening. Hotel information is listed on the next page. Please check in with ABO (406-599-9996) upon arrival to let us know you have arrived. Leave your cell phone number so we can call and confirm the morning departure time. Guests Driving: Bozeman is located of Interstate 90. Big Timber is located off Interstate 90 between Bozeman and Billings. Bozeman to Big Timber is 60 miles, driving time 1 hour. Billings to Big Timber is 90 miles, driving time 1½ hours. Guests Flying: Plan to fly into the Bozeman International Airport (BZN) the day before your trip begins. The following airlines service Bozeman: Delta 1-800-325-1999 American 1-800-433-7300 Northwest 1-800-225-2525 Horizon Air 1-800-547-9308 Alaska Airlines 1-800-252-7522 Frontier 1-800-432-1359 The service is usually very good into Bozeman. However, this is a college town, home to Montana State University, so make your reservations early. Check out Montana Travel (1-800-247-3538) or (info@mttravel.com) for some of the best air fares available. Remember, Bozeman is on Mountain Time so keep that in mind when making your travel arrangements. The Bozeman hotels we recommend provide shuttle service to and from the airport. If you are not renting a car and want to stay in Big Timber rather than Bozeman we will provide you with shuttle service from Bozeman to your hotel in Big Timber and return you to your hotel in Bozeman at the end of your trip. The cost of this service is $300 round trip per vehicle. (Example If we are picking up 4 clients and their gear in one vehicle, the cost would be $575 round trip per person. If we are picking up 1 client, the cost would be $300 round trip for that one client.)

Bozeman, Montana HOTEL INFORMATION The C mon Inn (www.cmoninn.com) (406-587-3555). The C mon Inn s heavy timbered look with Montana s big game animals perched on rocks above waterfalls has the charm and feel of a mountain lodge. Comfortable rooms, an indoor pool, several hot tubs, a breakfast bar and shuttle service to the airport leave you wanting for little. The Outback Steakhouse is conveniently located next door. The C mon Inn is located off Interstate 90 at Exit 305 on East Valley Center Road. Ask for Absaroka-Beartooth Outfitters (ABO) associated rates to receive a substantial discount on your room. The Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Bozeman West (www.holidayinnexpress.com) (406-582-4995). The Holiday Inn Express is a small, friendly hotel conveniently located at 2305 Catron Street. The Inn has a breakfast bar that opens at 5:30 each morning, comfortable rooms, pool and exercise facility. They provide shuttle service to the airport. Make your reservations early. The summer is a busy time for tourists while the fall is filled with college related activities. Bozeman is a delightful old western town with great restaurants, wonderful art galleries, the Museum of the Rockies and many other fun places to visit. If you have the time, arrive a day or two early or stay over a day after your ABO trip to enjoy some of what Bozeman has to offer. Big Timber, Montana The Grand Hotel (www.thegrand-hotel.com) (406-932-4459). The Grand Hotel Bed and Breakfast is a charming and beautifully renovated historical hotel in downtown Big Timber. The hotel provides a wonderful full breakfast but not before 8:00 am. It has a well-stocked vintage bar which serves lunch and dinner. But for those with a grander palette it sports a fabulous restaurant that serves delicious gourmet dinners. The dining room is very popular so be sure to make a reservation. The Super 8 Motel (www.super8.com) (406-932-8888). The Super 8 Motel has comfortable rooms with small refrigerators and serves a light breakfast. For a heartier breakfast, the Country Skillet is across the street and opens at 6:00 AM.

EQUIPMENT AND CLOTHING LIST WALK & WADE FLY FISHING TRIPS Recommended gear for walk & wade trips Weather may vary during the summer months from very warm to very cold, so be prepared for everything. We recommend the layered system of dressing. wading shoes/sandals (On warm summer days wet wading is preferable on both float and wade fishing trips) *** waders and wading boots *** non-cotton socks warm and cold weather clothing (Montana weather is always changing) rain gear windbreaker sunscreen polarized sunglasses sun and rain hat 5-6 wt. rod 0-6x tippet 3x, 4x, 5x 9ft. leaders sinking line for stream fishing secret flies (We are always looking for new ties.) OPTIONAL OR LUXURY ITEMS Binoculars GPS, Range Finder, Cell phone Camera/extra film Spirited beverage if desired *** We ask that all footwear worn into Montana s waters has non-slip rubber bottoms, NO FELT. This is due to the potential for aquatic invasives (non-native invasive species). Cleaning the bottom of your rubber sole sandals, waders and wading boots with 409 is an excellent way to protect against spreading non-native invasive species.
