Current Status Gathering point for local kiteboarders, boaters, fisherman, windsurfers, tourist and observers utilizing the resources of the Banana River Lagoon. Frequent visitors from all over the country and state. Pictured are students from UCF Kiteboarding Club. Proposal Retrofit a 16-20 Trailer to offer watersports rentals and lessons on location at Constitution Bicentennial Park. Focus on offering Kiteboarding Lessons, Paddleboard Rentals etc. to Residents and Visiting Tourists. Offer support and increased safety to kiteboarders, windsurfers, fisherman, travelers, observers, boaters and more. Trailer will remain mobile and removed after business hours and inclement weather. Offer litter removal and environmental support.
Proposed Example Trailer to offer Kiteboarding Lessons, Sales and Support to city citizens and visitors. Potentially rent SUPs and other items. Tow trailer to parking lot during peak hours and during Ideal weather conditions. Offer services to the public while ensuring a safe and Clean environment to perform watersports. Help keep the area clean and litter free. Organize with local clubs and community to promote Litter removal, prevention and environmental awareness.
Proposed Continue to organize permitted events with groups Such as the Collegiate Kiteboarding Association and UCF Kite Club. Build strong local community to promote self policing And establish ground rules to promote safety and reduce Risk of incidence. Increase options for tourist while providing Outlets to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
Similar Venue Kelly Park in Merritt Island with Calema Has made Merritt Island a world renowned windsurfing spot. Brings people in from all over for competitions, camps and lessons. Operating since 1984 with buildings constructed in 1998 shows possibilities of long term relationship with local business.
Bio Billy Bosch- President of Good Breeze Kiteboarding dba Ron Jon Kiteboarding Time teaching watersports: Over 12 years Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida. Multiple Graduate courses completed from UF and FIT in Ocean and Environmental Engineering. Certifications: IKO Level 2 Kiteboarding Instructor, PADI Dive Master, Emergency First Responder Examiner, Boaters Safety Background: Billy has been surfing and participating in water sports since a little kid. He began surfing at the Cocoa Beach Pier at a very early age. Working as a surf instructor in the summers during high school and college, he quickly caught on to the amazing activity that is kiteboarding. It wasn't long before everyone was asking him for lessons and Good Breeze Kiteboarding was born. Ron Jon Kiteboarding was created after years of working as a Surf Instructor and Summer Camp Director at the Ron Jon Surf School. During his time at the University of Florida, he founded the Kiteboarding Gators Club and participated in many Collegiate Kiteboarding Association (CKA) events and competitions. He is still active in the CKA and constantly encourages college students to get involved. He is very active in the Cocoa Beach community. He works closely with Ron Jon Surf Shop and many other local businesses. Billy constantly participates in various organizations such as Surfers for Autism and Special Olympics. Ron Jon Kiteboarding offers kiteboarding and paddleboard lessons. The business has been established in Cocoa Beach for over 5 years now. All instructors are highly qualified and experienced. Billy has organized multiple events including kiteboarding contests in the Beach N Boards Fest. Good Breeze Kiteboarding has worked with Keep Brevard Beautiful in organization of invasive species and adopt a shore program at proposed location. Billy also travels to private islands to teach watersports to executives and royalty.

Recommended Park Improvements Installation of a grassy area west of parking lot for setting up and breaking down kites. Drainage included. Drainage added to parking lot. Flooded every time it rains. Creates parking issues and unsanitary conditions.
Recommended Park Improvements Entrance to water opened up and covered with no slip material. Small fence or pilings similar to parking lot along road near setup area.
Recommended Park Improvements Bathroom, shower and other helpful facilities would make the park and Welcome to Cocoa Beach much more presentable. Use Kelly Park as an example. Pepper tree removal. Invasive species choking mangroves, limiting water access and creating wind shadow for kiteboarders.
