World Dance Arts Foundation EVENT GUIDLINES BALLROOM BLITZ 2012 The Junior and Youth Ballroom Blitz on November 3 rd kicks off a great weekend of dancing in Orlando. Doors open at the Hyatt International Ballroom at 10am. Soon after that there will be a FREE one hour workshop with Brian Fortuna who starred on both the US and UK versions of Dancing with the Stars The competition will start before noon (final times will be released the week of the event). The event is sponsored by the WDAF, World Promotions, The Hyatt and R&C Master dance floors. All Junior and Youth competitors gain admission to the ballroom FREE All non Junior & Youth competitors, (Collegiate dancers, dance teachers, adults, siblings, parents, spectators, etc.) pay $20 admission which is a donation to the WDAF. All Junior, Youth and Collegiate competitors receive 10 dances per couple FREE. If you elect a multi-dance event that is (say) 4 dances - that counts as 4 of your free entries - you have 6 left! The Free dances are per couple not per person. If you have more than one partner please contact us to discuss. The Adult event on Sunday 4 th is also open to Juniors and Youths BUT at full adult prices for both admission to the ballroom and the dance entries. 1. Entries should be checked immediately upon receipt of your heat sheets, Any corrections should be brought to our attention immediately. Although substitutions may be made (in emergency situations), there are no refunds for cancellations. 2. Please ensure that you are lined up with the Deck Captain at least 2 heats before your own. Missed heats will not be refunded. It is also important that Solo Music be provided to our sound engineer Chris Kanozsay - properly labeled and cued. Solos are limited to 2 minutes in duration. All events will be run in a timely fashion. 3. Appropriate Dress is expected at all times, Newcomers need not wear Dance Attire. Changing time has been allocated between the Freestyle and Solo Events. If you have quick changes we advise you utilize the changing rooms located directly in the Ballroom. World Promotions cannot be held responsible for any loss incurred either from the dressing rooms or any other public area, we strongly advise that NO valuables are left unattended. 4. Due to the overwhelming amount of competitors this year we ask that Ballroom Dancers must be checked in prior to10.30 am to be eligible for Ballroom Divisions Latin Dancers must be checked in prior to Noon to be eligible for Latin Divisions. 5.
