1. PRESENTATION OF EVENT 1.1 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS The 2013 UCI Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships will take place in Kirchberg (AUT On Saturday June 29th 2013 Start Men: 08:00 Start Women: 08:30 1.2 CATEGORIES The categories for which a world champion title will be awarded as per article 9.2.031 are as follow: Men aged 19 and over (from 1994 and before Women aged 19 and over (from 1994 and before 1.3 NUMBER OF RIDERS As per article 9.2.035, each national federation can enter 6 men and 6 women. Supplementary to the 6 men and 6 women nominated by the national federation, top 20 men and women of each round of the UCI marathon series as well as the top 50 of the individual general marathon series ranking obtain a qualification. All participants must obligatorily wear the national equipment. The outgoing marathon champion may take part in addition to the number of starters that the National Federation may enter (article 9.2.009: Men: Periklis ILIAS, GRE Women: Annika LANGVAD, DEN The outgoing continental champion may take part in addition (article 9.2.009. 7 riders of each national federation will be free of registration fee charges. 2. REGISTRATION PROCEDURE 2.1 BEFORE THE EVENT - ONLINE REGISTRATION: Registration of riders for the Marathon World Championships shall be entered only by the National Federation on the UCI website (article 9.2.003. Thursday June 6th 2013, 12:00 CET Thursday June 20th 2013, 12:00 CET Friday June 21st 2013, 17:00 CET Details of the hotel where the riders will stay must be mentioned in the online registration system. 3

2.2 AT THE EVENT - STARTERS CONFIRMATION/ACCREDITATIONS: The starters confirmation and the presentation of the national outfit will take place as follow: Date: Friday June 28th 2013 Time: 12:00-16:30 Where: In the tent, next to the Start/finish area All accreditations for the national federation staff will be handled directly on site. 3. TEAM MANAGERS MEETING The team managers meeting will take place as follows: Date: Friday June 28th 2013 Time: 17:30-18:00 Where: VIP area, next to the Start/finish area 4. NATIONAL OUTFIT All participants must obligatorily wear the national equipment. Riders of the same national team must wear identical racing shorts during the same event, except for advertising space included in a lateral band 9 cm wide, which may differ from one rider to another. This means that National Federations must also provide their riders with national racing shorts. The team managers must therefore present the national jersey and shorts to the Commissaires Panel at the starter confirmation. 1.3.057 The following advertising shall be authorised: two logos of maximum 64 cm 2 on the front of the jersey area comprising shoulders and sleeves: strip maximum 5 cm high sides of the jersey - a lateral strip 9 cm wide sides of the shorts - a lateral strip 9 cm wide The manufacturer s label (25 cm2 may appear once only on the jersey and once on each leg of the shorts. Advertising matter on jerseys and shorts may vary from one rider to another. The design of the jersey and shorts may vary from one category of riders to another. Additionally, the rider s name may be carried on the back of the jersey. 4

5. TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE 6. PROGRAMME 4.2.044 No rider may turn back on the course to reach a feed/technical assistance zone. Any rider doing so is disqualified. Only within the feed/technical assistance zone itself, a rider may turn back without obstructing other competitors. 4.2.045 Technical assistance during a race is permitted subject to the conditions below. 4.2.046 Authorised technical assistance during a race consists of repairs to or the replacement of any part of the bicycle other than the frame. Bike changes are not permitted and the rider must cross the finishing line with the same handlebar number plate that he had at the start. 4.2.047 Technical assistance shall only be given in the feed/technical assistance zones. 4.2.048 Spare equipment and tools for repairs must be kept in these zones. Repairs and equipment changes can be carried out by the rider himself or with the help of a team-mate, team mechanic or neutral technical assistance. Small items such as an inner tube or a small tool may be handed up from the feed/technical assistance zones. 4.2.049 In addition to technical assistance in feed zones, technical assistance is permitted outside these zones only between riders who are members of the same UCI MTB team or of the same national team. During the World Championships, it is only authorised between riders of the same national team. Riders may carry tools and spare parts provided that these do not involve any danger to the rider himself or the other competitors. OFFICIAL CEREMONIES The following points apply to the official ceremonies: 9.1.044 Within 10 minutes following the end of each race (unless otherwise provided and duly recorded in an official communiqué, the World Champion, the second and the third placed riders shall be ready for the official ceremony that shall be conducted under the responsibility of the chief of the commissaires panel. 9.1.046 Riders shall appear in racing attire, wearing their national jerseys but bare-headed and without headband or glasses, until they leave the official ceremony enclosure. 9.1.050 World Champion may not wear the jersey identifying his title and bearing the regulation advertisement of his main sponsor (s until, at earliest, the day following that on which he received it. Any infringement of the provisions of the above articles (9.1.044 to 9.1.050 shall be punished by a minimum fine of CHF 2 000 to CHF 10 000. A higher fine may be imposed depending on the advantage derived from the offence. 5
