S~N~A~F~F~L~E~D MAY 2011 Our newsletter has a name Snaffled. Congratulations to Dannielle Arnold for your winning suggestion! SNAFFLED Official Newsletter Of Maranoa Equestrian Club Inc. PO Box 738 Roma Qld 4455 Thanks to members Carla Cosgrove, Dannielle Arnold, Sussan Evans and Jo Green (pictured below) who volunteered to work as barrier attendants at the Roma Easter Races. Their efforts raised $600 for the club and they learnt some new horse skills, and best of all had a lot of fun, got to wear some attractive outfits, and made some new friends! Well done ladies thanks for your efforts! 2011 Management Committee President Sussan Evans Secretary Carla Cosgrove Treasurer Linda Arnold Club Email mec@hotmail.com.au Club Website www.maranoaequestrianclub.com Find us on Facebook to keep up to date with events This newsletter is for YOU, our Members, if you have any suggestions on content, news, articles, etc please email them to us! MEC held its first ever dressage competition in conjunction with Wallumbilla Show on 29 April 2011. 31 horses competed across all classes. The day went well and we received some very positive feedback from our competitors. MEC members took out a lot of the placings which was great to see Well Done All!!. MEC would like to thank Sussan Evans, Carla Cosgrove, Linda Arnold, Yoie Thomas, Dannielle Arnold, Renee Wilton, Roger Arnold, Rosie Herbert and Caitlin Haynes for organising, setting up and running the event. MEC would like to encourage other members to also help out at events, clinics and fundraising opportunities so we can share the workload around without helpers our club won t be able to run clinics or events. Many MEC members also competed at the Roma Show in dressage, show jumping and ring events. Great fun was had by all and some notable awards were achieved by our members. The MEC Committee would like to congratulate MEC members on their achievements, and thank them for supporting our local shows and showing great camaraderie at these events. MEC would also like to thank the Wallumbilla and Roma Show dressage, ring event and show jumping sponsors, organisers, stewards and helpers for running these events and volunteering their time. Two of our junior members, Jazmin Carroll and Shannon Wilton, travelled to Toowoomba to compete at the Darling Downs and South West Regional Interschool Championships in Toowoomba on 13 to 15 May. Both girls had great success picking up places in their events. Well Done Girls! MEC does not accept any responsibility for the accuracy of any article or advertisement, nor do the views within this newsletter necessarily reflet the views or policies of MEC. We have quite a few members travelling to Toowoomba at the end of May to compete at the Toowoomba Dressage 2* Regional Championships. MEC would like to wish everyone safe travels and good luck and hopefully the weather will be pleasant for you all. MEC Committee SNAFFLED ~ May 2011 Page 1 of 7
