Horse Section - WOODFORD SHOW 2018 SECTION - 1 - HORSES - SHOWGROUNDS PIC NUMBER QICB0711 SPECIAL HORSE REGULATIONS: Please refer to QCAS and Woodford A P & I Assoc Inc websites for Full details. The following is an overview only- 1 - Nominations must be in writing half hour before the event - unless otherwise specified. All entry fees as per schedule. Prize winning tickets to be presented at the Secretary s Office for collection of Prizemoney ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT. Entries are taken under the TICKET SYSTEM. ENTRY TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE NOMINATIONS OFFICE and exhibitors are requested to fill in the top portion of their ticket BEFORE entering the ring. 2 - Entry tickets to be presented to the steward BEFORE entry into class. 3 - NO ENTRY FEES WILL BE REFUNDED (UNLESS ON VETERINARY/MEDICALCERTIFICATE) 4 - Age of horse will date from 1st August. Every horse foaled before 1st August shall be deemed one year old on 1st August next following. 5 - A MAIDEN has not won in competition at an affiliated agricultural show. After winning a MAIDEN hack class this horse will be recognised as a NOVICE. A novice will remain a NOVICE until winning an open championship at an affiliated agricultural show. 6 - Parents, Guardians or Strappers are not permitted in the horse arena during Judging other than in any leadline class.. 7 Show Hunter is not eligible for other Open Hack classes - unless otherwise specified. 8 - Riders must wear protective head gear to the current Australian standard and the retaining harness must be secured and fastened at all times. 9 - Where height is stipulated, horses and ponies must be measured by the official Measurer when considered desirable. It will be optional with the Stewards to accept a Certificate of Measurement issued by a recognised National A. & I. A. of Qld, provided the animals were five years old at the date of issue of the Certificate. 10 - The Society reserves the right to substitute special prizes which may be donated for any of the scheduled prizes. 11 - No Stallion will be allowed to compete in Open Hack classes. 12 - All prize winners are eligible to compete for championships where applicable without special entry. 13 - All horses to be approved by the Judge prior to the commencement of each event. 14 - The excessive use of spurs by any rider in any contest will not be countenanced. Any rider continuing the practice after being warned may be debarred from competing further in any event. 15 - Each rider /handler must be ready with their horse for competition at the advertised time or when called upon, otherwise rider/handler and horse may be disqualified. Classes will NOT be held for multi-registered horses. 16 - The use of stockwhip or any other whip with a lash by an Exhibitor or Attendant during any Event is strictly prohibited. Any horse proving unduly fractious or delaying the completion of the contest must at the order of the Stewards, retire from competition. 17 - Ponies to be 14 hands and under. Galloways to be over 14 hands and not exceeding 15 hands. 18 - Disputes arising from any entry questioned or on any matter not provided for in the rules of the Society will be referred to a Disputes Committee (comprising the Chief Steward and two committee persons) who will adjudicate thereon. All disputes to be submitted in writing within 30 minutes of the event. $110 bond payable & retained if protest dismissed. 19 - Times stated are approximate only. Events will not start earlier than the times indicated in the schedule 20 - Owners of horses from clean country must make their own arrangements for spraying. 21 - No dogs allowed on the grounds with the exception of medical and assistance dogs and those competing in Dog Section. 22 NO ELECTRIC FENCES 23 - Stallions need to be double tied, behind a portable panel or single tied and hobbled. 24 At any affiliated agricultural show the horse committee has the right to substitute a judge. 25 - The Committee reserves the right to amend, combine or cancel any event... 26 - All electrical appliances brought onto grounds must have a current test tag to comply with O H & S 27 - All Competitors must complete and sign a Horse Health Declaration/Waiver BEFORE competing in any event. 28 - Normal fees apply for camping, stables or yards if on the grounds prior to commencement of the Show and the applicable Gate Entry Fee for 1 day is payable at the same time 29 - Unless otherwise stated, Rules and Regulations relating to Individual Breed/Associations will be used as a guide only- Judges Decision is final. 30 - LOCAL AREA EVENTS HELD ON FRIDAY 22nd JUNE 2018 ARE FOR PERMANENT RESIDENTS AND THEIR HORSES OF MORETON BAY REGIONAL COUNCIL AREA AND POST CODE 4515 31 - Judges listed in this programme are current at time of printing. Young Guns riders are allowed to ride up into Youth Division with parental/guardian permission.
