TERRAIN: The landscape of this area is influenced by the western portion of the Cross Timbers and Prairies Ecological Region before it transitions west into the Rolling Plains. Hilltops amassing approximately 135 of elevation change with rocky ridgelines and outcroppings providing spectacular views over valleys, while other portions of the ranch plateau into areas of gently sloping cultivated land. A healthy amount of hardwoods such as live oak, post oak, red oak, and elm are scattered throughout the property and even some pecan and cottowoood can be found along the creeks and seasonal drainages that have carved their way through the land. Brush species include mesquite, cedar, shin oak, hackberry, cedar elm, elbow bush, little leaf sumac, lote bush, little ash, catclaw, skunkbush, greenbriar and others. This collection of tree cover accounts for approximately 80% of the ranch, with the remaining 20% being cultivation and native pasture.
