Welcome to the 2018 Second City Open Tournament Chicago On behalf of the Second City Open Tournament-Chicago Board, Committee and Volunteers, we are pleased to welcome bowlers, families and athletic supporters to the Fifth Annual SCOTCH Tournament. SCOTCH 2018 represents the 30th Annual International Gay Bowling Organization IGBO tournament in the Windy City. This year we are proud to host teams from 11 states around the Midwest and around the country, from California to Ohio. Regular Brackets Entry fee is $5 each. Bowlers may enter as many times as they wish (for multiple brackets), but are limited to one entry per bracket. There are 8 entries available for each bracket. Bowlers advance through 1-on-1 match ups, with the winner moving to the next round. Brackets will cover a span of 3 games, and be sold for each event Singles, Doubles, and Team. There are no divisions. Bowlers may enter all available bracket offerings (ie. Handicap and/or Scratch). Payouts are $25 for 1st Place & $10 for 2nd Place. Mega Brackets Entry fee is $5 each. Bowlers may enter as many times as they wish. There are 64 entries available for each mega bracket. Bowlers advance through 1-on-1 match ups, with the winner moving to the next round. Mega brackets will cover a span of 6 games with two options Singles/Doubles or Doubles/Team events. Payout is $125 for 1st Place & $75 for 2nd Place. Scratch Entry fee is $20. All entrants are placed into one of 5 divisions (A to E) based on entering average. Winners are determined using total scratch score for all 9 games (Singles, Doubles, and Team events). Payout ratio is 1:8. Darkhorse Doubles Entry fee is $5/bowler. Bowlers can have unlimited entries so long as there are unique partners to pair. Entrants are randomly matched with one another to create a doubles pairing. Darkhorse Doubles spans 3 games only Doubles event. Payout ratio is 1:8. SIDEPOTS INFO INFO Senior Handicap Entry fee is $10. All entrants compete in one division. Bowler must be at least 50 years old as of March 5th and show proof at registration (DOB 3/5/66 or earlier). Winners are determined using total scratch plus handicap scores for all events (9 games covering Singles, Doubles, and Team). Payout ratio is 1:5. Best 3 of 6 Entry fee is $20. All entrants compete in one division using scratch plus handicap scores. Best 3-of-6 will cover a span of 6 games Singles/Doubles events. Payout ratio is 1:8. Mystery Pot Entry fee is $8 and entrants are eligible for a new payout each event (Singles, Doubles, and Team). Bowlers will use scores from both 1st & 2nd games each event. Winning number called during 3rd game. Winner must be present to claim cash prize. Multiple winners during an event will split prize fund allocated to that event. Scratch Masters Special step ladder event for Top 5 scorers in each division, held following the last shift of the regular tournament. Entry fee varies ($25-45) based on division. Entrants are placed into one of 5 divisions (A to E) based on entering average. Payout ratio is 1:3, not to exceed 5 payouts per division. Qualifiers for the step ladder event are determined using the total of 6 scratch games bowled during Singles & Doubles events. Page 11
