All entries are accepted subject to the Rules and Regulations of the Society SPECIAL BUTCHER'S AWARD : FENTON FOREST PERPETUAL TROPHY & SASH. Donated by the Society to the Butcher who purchases the Steer judged the "Supreme Champion". Further conditions for this award will be published in the Beef Cattle Catalogue. NOTE TO EXHIBITORS & BUYERS ALL CATTLE MUST BE DEHORNED. Any cattle with more than 5 cm regrowth will be ineligible. NO NUMBERED TAGS OTHER THAN SHOW CATALOGUE TAGS TO BE USED. ALL CATTLE MUST BE PUT TO AUCTION. MOUTHING OF STEERS WILL BE AT THE DISCRETION OF COMMITTEE.
PROGRAM, JUDGING TIMES ETC. TUESDAY 24 th October 2017 All cattle in Classes 1-6 must be delivered to the Showgrounds by 10.00 am for weighing and class classification. LIVE STEER JUDGING 8.30am WEDNESDAY 25 th October 2017 Results will be announced as judging progresses and exhibitors or interested persons are invited to be present during judging. SALE OF LIVESTOCK: Sale of Commercial Cattle will commence at approx 1.30 pm (followed by sale of Commercial Lambs and Commercial Pigs) PRIOR TO SALE OF LIVESTOCK 1st, 2nd and 3rd awards in classes 1-2 are automatically entered in carcass section together with nominated steers. CONDITIONS EAR TAGS: AUSSIE EAR TAGS will be supplied by the Society & will correspond with Catalogue Numbers. These must be inserted prior to arrival at the Showground. All ear tags other than those issued by RAST to be removed. It is the Exhibitors responsibility to "mouth" animals and enter correctly according to the Schedule and entries not correctly classified will be reclassified or disqualified. All cattle must have vendor declaration supplied. GENERAL: In the event of entries being in excess of the accommodation available, the Society reserves the right to limit the number of entries finally accepted and to advise any Exhibitor so affected after the date of the closing of entries. All cattle must carry NLIS tag. Cattle may not be entered in more than one live class. The Breed or Cross must be stated on Entry Form. All cattle entered in these classes must be bred in the State and the bona-fide property of the Exhibitors for at least three months preceding the Show. CATTLE ON SHOWGROUNDS: Cattle in the Live Steer Classes shall remain on the Showground until Wednesday evening unless prior arrangements have been made with the RAST Committee and will be fed at the expense of the Exhibitor. All animals are on the Showground at the owner s risk and the RAST accepts no liability for loss or injury at any time. In addition to any special regulations herein all Exhibitors in this section are subject to the General Regulations for Competitors and Exhibitors of the Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania, copies of which are available on request from the Society. PERSONAL INFORMATION & PRIVACY The Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania collects personal information from exhibitors in competitions conducted by the Society. Verification of the accuracy of this data may be obtained through contact with the RAST Section Secretary. This information is used only for the purpose related to the conduct of the events run by the Society and is not divulged to third parties. However, entrant s names and contact details may be released to duly authorised parties in respect to matters of animal health and safety. The names of exhibitors may be included in catalogues published by the Society and successful exhibitors names released for general publication. If you do not provide the information requested on the competition entry form we may not be able to accept your entry.
COMMERCIAL CATTLE Live Steer Classes Entries which do not match the Class conditions, will be re-classified. Stewards will grade entries according to weight at the Show.
