The Water Ozonator is a consumer product designed to complement a healthy lifestyle. Ozone is nature s purifier. High levels of ozone in the air at the sea shore and in forests are one reason why the air smells so fresh. This unit produces ozone from ambient air. The Water Ozonator is designed to freshly ozonate and increase the oxygen content of water. The output is sufficient to sterilize water. It does not remove impurities such as heavy metals a water filtration system is needed for that. We ask you to read this manual carefully. We encourage you to become well-informed about the use of freshly ozonated water. To learn more about the Water Ozonator we invite you to visit: www.sotainstruments.com. The SOTA Water Ozonator is built to give you many years of trouble-free use. Complementary units The Water Ozonator offers one part of a 4-part program: 1. The Silver Pulser for Micropulsing. 2. The Magnetic Pulser for Pulsed Magnetic Fields. 3. The Silver Pulser for making Ionic~Colloidal Silver. 2008 SOTA Instruments Inc. 1 of 5 www.sotainstruments.com
4. The Water Ozonator for freshly Ozonated Water. Complete unit includes One (1) Water Ozonator Unit One (1) Ceramic Air Stone attached to Silicone Tubing One (1) AC-DC Wall Adaptor One (1) Carrying Case One (1) Product Manual To replace accessories, please contact your supplier. ozonating water 1. Connect the silicone tubing to the air outlet pipe on the side of the Water Ozonator. 2. Plug the power cord plug of the AC-DC Wall Adaptor into the unit and plug the adaptor into an electrical outlet. 3. Submerge the Ceramic Air Stone, attached to the silicone tubing, in a glass container of water. Chilled water holds more ozone but room temperature water is healthier for the stomach. Note: Ozonating liquids other than water may clog the airstone and will void the warranty on the airstone. 4. Push the ON/OFF/TIMER button to turn the unit ON. The green flashing light will come on for the 5 minute timed session. The timer always starts with the 5 minute cycle. If more than 5 minutes is required, push the ON/ OFF/TIMER button each push moves the timer from 15, to 30, to 60 minutes. A green flashing light indicates which time is set. See page 3 for timing. 5. Check to be sure fine bubbles pass out of the Ceramic Air Stone into the water. If you do not see any bubbles, ensure the silicone tubing is firmly attached to the air outlet on the side of the unit. As the unit operates, you should catch the smell of ozone. 6. It is important to place the water with submerged airstone in a well-ventilated area, as concentrated ozone in air can be harmful to lungs. For example, under a stove-top fan. It is also best to place the container of ozonating water well away from the ozone unit. 7. At the end of a timed session, the unit will beep, all the LED lights will flash, and the air pump will continue to operate for an additional 10 seconds to purge the ozone from the 2008 SOTA Instruments Inc. 2 of 5 www.sotainstruments.com
8. 9. tube. The unit will then turn itself off. To turn the unit OFF, before a timing session is complete, hold the ON/OFF/TIMER button down for a full two seconds. Allow water to drain from the tubing after use. This ensures water will not drain back into the unit. Use the freshly ozonated water immediately for optimal results. If left for 20 minutes in open air, the ozone dissipates out of the solution. The benefits of the extra oxygen will no longer be present. Notes: Charcoal filter: A charcoal filter inside the unit protects the circuit from the ozone in the air. Small beads of charcoal are impregnated in the filter. Excess beads of charcoal may initially fall off the filter and out of the unit. This is normal. Simply discard the beads. Timing: When the timer is set for 15, 30 or 60 minutes, the lights indicate remaining time. For example, when set for 60 minutes, the g r e e n 60 minute LED flashes continuously. As time progresses, the g r e e n 30 minutes LED comes on as well to indicate there is 30 minutes remaining. As time progresses, the 15 and then 5 minute LEDs will each come on to indicate the time remaining Storage: Larger quantities of ozonated water can be stored in a glass container with an airtight lid. Timing To saturate with ozone One cup of water is saturated with ozone within 2 minutes. The 5-minute setting is sufficient to ozonate up to 4 cups (1 quart or 1 litre) for either room temperature or ice water. Set the timer depending on the quantity of water for sterilization and saturation with ozone. Quantity of Water Timed Setting 4 cups (1 quart or 1 litre) or less 5 minutes 1 gallon or 4 litres 15 minutes 2 gallons or 8 litres 30 minutes 4 gallons or 16 litres 60 minutes How Much to Drink It is usually best to gradually increase the intake of ozonated water. To begin, it is suggested to ozonate only one glass of water a day. If well tolerated, increase to two or more glasses of ozonated water daily. After an extended period of use, it is wise to take breaks. 2008 SOTA Instruments Inc. 3 of 5 www.sotainstruments.com
WATER DISINFECTION Tests by two independent laboratories proved the effectiveness of the ozone generated by a SOTA Water Ozonator in killing the following virulent pathogens: Escherichia coli (E coli) Salmonella spp (typhoid fever) Pseudomonas aeruginosa Shigella spp Staphylococcus aureus Proteus mirabilis Klebsiella spp Candida spp OPERATIONAL CAUTIONS As with all electrical products do not operate with the electrical components in or near water. Never breathe in the Ozone directly from the air stone as it may harm (oxidize) delicate tissue in the lungs. Always use in a well ventilated area. For example, operate under a stove top exhaust fan. Do not leave the Water Ozonator Unit on unattended. Do not operate the Water Ozonator Unit without the built-in air pump running. Electrical Specifications Power Requirements Wall Adaptor: 12 Volts DC @ 1.5 Amps, Centre POSITIVE Caution: Exceeding the voltage rating or reverse connection may result in injury or unit failure. This will void the warranty. Generator Output with Ambient Air Input Greater than 200 mg/hr O 3 @ 1.5 LPM using an Ozone-in-Air GM Anceros Ozone Analyzer, Model Ozomat Anseros GM 6000-RT. Ozone concentration is 3.6 Gamma (mg/l or ug/ml) @ 0.5 LPM. Capacity: Fully saturates 1 cup (8 ounces or 250 ml) container of chilled filtered water in less than 2 minutes to over 1,000 mv ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential). Ozone Generator Construction Uses Fused Quartz Glass and High Grade Stainless-Steel ozone chamber. Under normal use, the ozone chamber should last several years. The Water Ozonator uses ambient air and is not intended for use with pure oxygen. Integral Air Pump Pump Output: 0.5 PSI pressure, 2 LPM (2000 cc/min) volume. Optional Power Input To operate the ozone generator from a 12 Volt DC source such as an automobile battery, or appropriate solar panel, purchase a Universal Power Cord with POSITIVE tip. 2008 SOTA Instruments Inc. 4 of 5 www.sotainstruments.com
