Year 0 Visual Arts And Photography Trip To Bundanon On Monday the 4 th of March we met at school at 6am to go to Bundanon. The time we spent at Bundanon was very inspiring and was a great experience. We looked at well-known artworks and sculptures by Arthur Boyd and we were informed about the history, lifestyle and practices of Arthur Boyd. The Visual Arts students gained more knowledge, techniques and skills for art especially sketching styles and techniques. A very enjoyable experience was going down to the creek where we were able to sketch the environment, silently and individually. It was a time where we all relaxed. We were instructed to sketch on a long piece of paper and then we changed the location to incorporate a different location of the creek and it s natural surroundings. This experience from our Bundanon art camp can help our art making by showing us a more extensive purpose of art and how art relates to a person s every day life. The photography students studied how different techniques and skills changes what concept an image portrays. We went into Arthur Boyd s art studio and his family home where we could take photographs of anything we found unique or interesting. This helped gain more knowledge of how Arthur Boyd created his artworks and composed his images. We were put into groups to appropriate photographs from the 800 s and leant how different body positions described the relationship between people. This experience from Bundanon photography camp helped us learn the ways in which images are composed and how to create interesting and unique images. The people who instructed and looked after us were very inspiring and knowledgeable and made the stay at Bundanon worthwhile. It was also a great feeling to be standing and walking around where Arthur Boyd lives and practiced his art. Observing and standing in his studio was a wonderful experience, knowing that it was where he spent hours creating his famous masterpieces and we were privileged to be standing in there. It was a great and unique experience that really opened up our minds to the world of art.
