Policy: Uniforms Approval: Saint Mary s Committee 2015 Date: November 2015 Date for Review: End of season 2016 Policy Statement Saint Mary s Hockey Club (SMHC) is committed to building a club that represents professionalism, inclusivity and sporting excellence. Having a standard official uniform worn by members means there is a sense of commonality and depicts solidarity and unity as a club. Purpose: This policy aims to create: unity at a club level sense of belonging feeling of equality growth fostering relationships Scope: The policy applies to all members of the SMHClub Official playing uniform: This refers to all garments worn when a player is to take the field under the Darwin Hockey Association competition. The design for all official uniforms will be the responsibility of the SMHC committee. The committee must ensure uniform guidelines as per constitution are adhered to. This being: (1) The Club colours shall be Green and Gold and the uniform shall utilise these colours in such a format as the committee shall from time to time determine. Under FIH rules women must wear skirts. Sponsor logos must be displayed Club logo must be displayed design must be submitted to DHA for approval before it is implemented to keep in line with adopting a professional and inclusive atmosphere, it is recommended that 1. A grade men and women maintain same design uniform which is unique to this grade only 2. That all junior grades and all other senior grades maintain the same design with the difference being sleeves for juniors and no-sleeves for seniors Socks must be bottle green with a gold top and St Mary s name running vertically up the leg 1 Uniform Policy Saint Mary s Hockey Club
Under FIH rules, Goalkeepers must not wear a white smock and one that resembles the playing uniform of its own team or the opposition. The GK uniform does not need to be approved by DHA Other club apparel: This refers to all apparel worn outside of official competition such as supporter polos, sponsor polos, training singlets and special event uniforms. The use of club logos and titles/names needs approval by committee as governed by the Club Name and Brand Policy. the design for all uniforms is the responsibility of the SMHC committee colours for these uniforms is the responsibility of SMHC. If necessary they are to be inclusive of special event colour or of member cohort Any uniform changes need to be authorised by the committee. NB: This policy works in conjunction with Club Name and Brand Policy Uniform details: Club logo Must be placed on left hand of chest Sponsor logo If one or more sponsor, logos must be of equal size Must be placed on back of shirt Other branding logo eg such as Must not be used on the chest (front) of official playing uniform stickman figurine Can be used on other club uniforms and/or as committee see appropriate Colours Official uniform Bottle green and gold Other uniforms At the discretion of SMHC committee Playing number Size and font must be consistent across grade uniforms but must be visible and easily recognized. Design Features A grade men and women must have same design on uniform B grade-u8 s same design Seniors wear sleeveless uniforms Juniors must wear uniforms with sleeves to acknowledge Sun Safe requirements V-neck has proven to be a more comfortable feature of playing shirt A-women In past years A women have worn bodysuits. uniform is replaced to ensure this option is viable. Other Information: Whilst the club funds senior player uniforms, all senior uniforms remain the property of the club. Uniforms must be returned to committee at the end of each playing season. The club will seek funds from individual players in the event of lost or unreturned uniforms. Responsibility for Implementation: The SMHC is responsible for the implementation of this policy. Compliance and Monitoring: The Committee is responsible for the monitoring of compliance with this policy.
