The meeting was called to order at 7:04p.m. and adjourned at 8:25p.m. 1. Approval of Agenda Prior to the Approval of the Agenda the Clerk s Office reminded the Committee members that the September 20, 2018 meeting would be cancelled. There was consensus amongst members that the Committee would continue to meet monthly to work on any outstanding items. CYC0040-2018 That the Agenda for the meeting of August 16, 2018, be approved as printed and circulated. 2. Declarations of Interest under the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act 3. Previous Minutes 3.1. Minutes - - June 21, 2018 The minutes are pending consideration by the Planning and Development Committee on September 10, 2018 and the recommendations are pending approval by Council on September 12, 2018. The minutes were provided for Committee's information. 4. Delegations / Presentations 5. Reports / Updates 5.1. Verbal Update from Nelson Cadete, Project Manager, Active Transportation, Planning and Development Services, re: Update on the Active Transportation Master Plan. CYC041-2018 That the verbal update from Nelson Cadete, Project Manager, Active Transportation, Planning and Development Services, to the meeting of August 16, 2018, re: Active Transportation Master Plan, be received. 6. Active Transportation Ideas 7. Other/New Business / Information Items 7.1. Notice from Kevin Minaker, Manager, Traffic and Parking Operations, Public Works and Engineering, dated June 26, 2018, re: Implementation of Signed Bicycle Route and Urban Shoulders on MacKay Street South. Development Services provided a brief summary that included the following: The City will be installing urban shoulders along Mackay Street South, from north Park Drive to Williams Parkway. The urban shoulders are the same width as bicycle lanes, but can also be used for on-street parking Proposed bicycle routes will provide local cycling connections The City is currently working on development an Active Transportation Master Plan (ATMP) for the city which will recommend a city-wide active transportation network. Urban shoulders along Mackay Street South can be converted into designated bicycle lanes to connect to overall networks, with a city-wide network in place. Advised that there are many benefits to promoting cycling and building infrastructure to support it. Clarification that data can be uploaded to GEOHub in a timely manner. CYC042-2018 That the verbal update from Nelson Cadete, Project Manager, Active Transportation, Planning and Development Services, to the meeting of August 16, 2018, re: Implementation of Signed Bicycle Route and Urban Shoulders on Mackay Street South, be received. 2018 08 16 Page 3 of 5

7.2. Report from Development Services, dated May 9, 2018, re: Pedestrian Crossover (PXO) Level 2 (Ontario Traffic Manual Book 15: Pedestrian Crossing Treatments). Development Services, provided an overview of the report entitled Pedestrian Crossover (PXO) Level 2 (Ontario Traffic manual Book 15: Pedestrian Crossing treatments. Committee discussion took place with respect to the following: Staff clarified the difference between Ontario Traffic Manual Books 15 and 18. Clarification provided regarding what a Pedestrian Cross Overs is Advised that trailers will still be able to get through with P-gates Installation of information signs to be installed at PXO locations CYC043-2018 That the report from Nelson Cadete, Project Manager, Active Transportation, Planning and Development Services, to the Cycling Advisory Committee meeting of August 16, 2018, re: Pedestrian Crossover (PXO) Level 2 (Ontario Traffic Manual Book 15: pedestrian Crossing Treatments), be received. 8. Future Agenda Items There was Committee consensus to remove the following items from the Future Agenda Items list: 1. Heart Lake Road relative to active transportation Dayle Laing 2. Steeles Avenue and Hurontario Street Gateway Cycling Solutions Committee discussion. 9. Correspondence 10. Question Period In response to questions from Committee, staff advised the following: That an education campaign will be held to educate residence on the use of pedestrian cross overs Level 2 Bike lane standards are 1.8 meters 2018 08 16 Page 4 of 5

11. Public Question Period In response to a question from Erica Duque, Active Transportation Planner, Region of Peel, the Committee advised that Bloor Street and River Street are examples of well-developed bike routes in Toronto. 12.
