February 2015 Newsletter Pro's Corner Kevin Rhinehart, PGA Professional (270) 554-3025 / 556-5470 kevinrhinehart@bellsouth.net Greetings to Membership, Hey there golfers, the golf season is approaching. Be sure to check out the 2015 Golf Schedule and make plans to play in your favorite events. If you are new to the Rolling Hills family, please stop by the Golf Shop and introduce yourself to us. We can answer any questions you may have, and we will enter you in a drawing for Rolling Hills Logo golf shirt. Golf Lessons It's a great time to get the game in shape. You may contact me at the Golf Shop or by email (kevinrhinehart@bellsouth.net) If you have a goal to win your flight in the Club Championship, to be a state champion or just hit golf shots that help you enjoy the game more, don t hesitate to set up a series of golf lessons. Lesson rates will remain the same as 2014. If lessons are indoors, there will be an additional $10 fee for room charges. New In the Golf Shop All major brands have new offerings. Callaway and Cobra have revamped their whole line of clubs also. Stop by so we can show you the latest. If you have any questions, please don t hesitate to contact us. New iron sets are also here. We have Callaway, Ping, Nike, and Mizuno irons. Arriving soon will be new golf balls from Titleist, Callaway, and Nike: Stop by the shop and we will see which ball fits your game. Footwear: FootJoy and Nike have an exciting new line of golf shoes. These are the most revolutionary shoes ever. We have men s and ladies in an array of sizes. Men s Member Guest 2014 participants in the Men s Member Guest may begin signing up February 1st. Those who sign up early are assured their tee time preference. Entry fee for this event is $230 per team. Fee is due with application. Applications are available in the Golf Shop. 2014 participants have priority in signing up until June 14. Non 2014 participants may begin signing up June 15. July 15 is deadline for all participants.

Used Clubs: We have an excellent connection for buying used clubs. If you are in the market for a good used set, contact me by phone or stop by the Golf Shop. Sale: All winter merchandise has been drastically reduced for clearance. Stop by and check out these bargains. As always, it is a privilege serving as your Golf Professional. My staff and I are always happy to assist you. Swing for excellence, Kevin Rhinehart News from the Course In the upcoming month, the turf management staff will be completing a few projects on the golf course. We will be applying herbicide to the entire golf course to eradicate winter weeds and keep summer grassy weeds from emerging. During this time, golf carts will be restricted to the paths on some holes to keep carts from tracking the herbicides into unwanted areas. We will try to keep the membership informed as well as possible on these closings. Memorial trees will be planted in the next couple weeks also. We will then install the posts and plaques soon after. When the weather is nice enough for golfing, we will try to keep the greens mowed or rolled as well as the pin locations changed as often as the weather will permit. We are looking forward excitedly to the upcoming golf season and hope that all have a great month. David Farris, Golf Course Superintendent Thank you to RHCC Member Butch McNeill for the donation of the new American flag outside the front entrance to the Clubhouse. Our old flag was in need of replacing, and this new one looks awesome.

SUPER BOWL PARTY February 1st Two teams going for the Championship!! Seattle vs. New England And inspired by the Seahawks and the Patriots, RHCC has Two Contests all their own. Get out your recipes as we see who makes the BEST WINGS and who makes the best CHOWDER. Winners will receive bragging rights for the year AND a bar gift certificate. For those football fans not entering the contest, bring your favorite Super Bowl food to share. The bar will be serving up pitchers of beer all day for only $7 along with our regular bar favorites. It's going to be a GREAT PARTY! 2014 State of the Club The RHCC Board of Directors invites each member to attend the annual State of the Club on Monday evening, February 9th, at the monthly Board meeting. The meeting will be held in the ballroom starting at 6:00 PM. A PowerPoint presentation on the big screen will include current financial reports, proposed capital projects, membership status, golf course update as well as many other topics. Please plan to attend and be part of this open dialogue regarding your country club. Membership Promotion Rolling Hills Country Club is offering a membership promotion for a limited time. New members may join the Club with NO INITIATION FEE if they sign a two-year contract. Regular or Swim/Tennis membership qualifies. This promotion is only available until we reach 450 members. Membership at Rolling Hills Country Club is a great value. Tell all your friends about this exciting opportunity to join one of the best clubs in the tri-state area. Members who have left in last 12 months are not eligible.

Middle School "Sweetheart" Dance Time is running out to get tickets for the annual Middle School Sweetheart Dance! The dance is a signature event for area sixth, seventh and eighth graders.
