CHAMPIONSHIPS HEAD QUARTER OFFICE The Championships head quarter Office will open Sunday, May 14th at the PEPS-0384. The Office will be available to the Organizing Committee, Delegation Chefs and Managers. TRANSPORTATION Provided we have received your travel itinerary as requested by the April 26 th deadline, all teams and delegates will be transported to and from the airport. The airport is approximately 15 minutes from the Laval University campus. Teams, please meet 3 hours prior to your flight. CHECK IN REGISTRATION OFFICE REGISTRATION AND ACCREDITATION Upon your arrival you will register and receive your accreditation at the Pavillon ALPHONSE-MARIE- PARENT For extra accreditation or lost ones you must present yourself to the head quarter Office with your Chef de Mission. Registration Office hours are 8:00 a.m. 10:00 p.m. Upon arriving at Laval University, the Chef de Mission and Team Managers of each delegation should report immediately to the Registration Office to receive their team package (accreditation and room keys/cards) No one will be allowed into the training/competition gyms without the appropriate accreditation Accreditation must be worn at all times so it is visible on the outside of your clothing (except for athletes during warm-up and competition) please ensure that you carry your accreditation at all times ROOM KEYS Upon arrival, room keys will be picked up at the Pavillon Parent Upon departure, all keys must be collected and returned by the Chef to Mission to the Residence front desk If a key should be lost, requests for replacement keys are to be made by the Chef at the Administrative Office All damages made on the residence material volontarly, or stolen abjects are the Provincial Federation s responsibility and will be invoiced. PARKING If you are housed in one of the residence and have a car, you will receive a parking pass valid on all campus parking lots expects no parking areas and parking meter areas. Spectators They may park in the PEPS underground parking lot at the cost of 5$ per day during the week. Parking is free on the weekend. 6
RESIDENCE GENERAL INFORMATION Towels and bed linins are provided by the residence Bed linen will be changed mid-week There are phones in each room and local calls are free Pay phones, ice machines(bring your own plastic bags), and vending machines are located in each residence Laval University is a non-smoking campus - smoking is only permitted outside only All athlete residences and lounges are alcohol free areas Washers and dryers are located in each residence, enquire at the front desk. You must supply your own detergent. 7
PAVILLON DESJARDINS: CAFETERIA Cafeteria From Sunday 14th to Saturday 20th BREAKFAST: 6h30-9h30 LUNCH: 11h30-14h30 DINNER: 17h00-20h00 Saturday 13 th the cafeteria will on be open only for dinner and Sunday the 21st, it will only open for breakfast. Dinner will start at 16:30 exceptionally on May 16th and 17th. Lunch boxes will be available to the participants that are unable reach the cafeteria in time because of their competition schedule. MEDICAL & SAFETY Medical Coverage Welcome to Quebec In order to insure treatments to the athletes during the championship medical services will be available from May 14 th to May 20 th (see the schedule in the annexes) Physiotherapist and Student-Healers will be available on the training and competition site: -room 0330 in the PEPS -room 0537 in the arena (under the bleachers of rink A) These persons will be reachable through the organizing committee communication system during regular hours. The material available will be: -Ice -First-aid kit -Treatment tables 9
There is no charge for first aid treatment. But athletes that will require preventive tapings will have to bring their own material (the actual taping is free of charge), or pay for the material according to the price list. The rooms will also be available medical person that are coming with the delegations. However, priority will be given to first aid treatments. In case of an emergency The medical personnel will communicate with Laval security in order to evacuate the victim by ambulance towards a Québec City hospital, in accordance with University protocol. The medical personnel from each delegation will be in charge of the victims. Our medical personnel will support them as needed. If the victim s delegation has no medical personnel, ours will take charge. Medical needs outside of competition or training hours 2 options are offered if medical care is needed by an athlete, a coach or support staff (see map in annexes): - La Clinique médicale St-Louis: They offer various Medical services without appointments. They are open from 8h00 am to 9h00 pm from Monday to Friday and 9h00 am to 1h00 pm Saturday and Sunday. Consulting fees are 40$ for non resident. - Centre hospitalier Universitaire de Québec (CHUL). If the need is outside of the previous hours, we suggest that you go to the emergency room at the CHUL. 10
