Congratulations on entering the Running Warehouse Perth Marathon, Relay or Kids Marathon. The WA Marathon Club has held this event since 1979. This community event is conducted by the WA Marathon Club with the proceeds being donated to Canteen. Our aim is to promote the sport of distance running. The Relay option has been designed for those who want to be part of the great community event but feel 42.195km is too far. The event wouldn't be the same without you, the competitors, a huge thanks to all who make a weekend or day out of it! We will do our best to ensure you enjoy the experience! RACE START TIMES Start & Finish: 'The Camfield' - Camfield Drive, Burswood. Marathon Start: 7:30am Relay Start: 8:00am Kids Marathon: 8:45am RELAY CHANGE POINTS 1st leg The Camfield to Victoria Ave - 10km 2nd leg Victoria Ave to Narrows - 11.1km 3rd leg Narrows to 'The Camfield' - 6.5km 4th leg - 'The Camfield' to 'The Camfield' - 14.6km Please note all runners are expected to make their own way to and from their change points. No shuttle buses are available. WAVE STARTS & PACERS There are no official Wave Starts across all events. If you believe you will be in the top 10, please ensure you are as close to the start line as possible, as prizes will be awarded on gun time. There will be Pacers - 3:00, 3:30, 4:00 & 4:30 - wearing a pacer bib, coloured shirt and holding a balloon. Cut off time for the Marathon is 6 hours and 30 minutes, course will be closed off at 2:00pm. PARKING Please note that whilst there is ample parking in and around The Camfield (approx 250 bays), these bays will fill up early. Parking is also available at the Clubrooms and public parking available on Camfield Drive next to Crown. LEGENDS OF ATHLETICS - PASTA NIGHT Friday 15 June, 6.30pm - 9:00pm Join us for the Pre Marathon Pasta Night with Perth Marathon ambassadors Shaun Creighton and Sarah Jamieson. We are pleased to announce that the 2018 Perth Marathon Ambassadors will be former Olympic and Commonwealth Games representatives, Shaun Creighton and Sarah Jamieson. Both athletes have stunning records from 800m up to the Marathon. Both are still Australian National Record holders with Sarah Jamieson still holding the 1500m and one mile records and Shaun Creighton with the Steeplechase. WHERE: 'The Camfield' - End of Camfield Drive, Burswood COST: $25pp which includes an option of a meat or vegetarian pasta and side salad. Cash bar will be open. Hosted by Lauren Shelley, Commonwealth Games Legend, both Shaun and Sarah will be speaking, followed by a Q&A session. You don't need to be running the marathon to come along. BIB & RELAY TIMING CHIP COLLECTION You must collect your race bib prior to running. Bibs will be available at the Expo on Saturday 16 June 11:00am - 3:00pm. The FIRST leg runner of the relay must collect the team's ankle timing chip on Sunday morning prior to the race. The chip must be worn on the LEFT ankle and passed to the next runner at each change over point. For those who have registered prior to 31 May 2018, bibs will be available for collection from 'Running Warehouse', 52 McCoy Street, Myaree, on Saturday, June 2. Any bibs not collected will be available for collection on Expo day, June 16 at the WAMC Clubrooms.

You must be present to claim your prize. MARATHON FINISHERS SHIRT & MEDAL All individual Marathon runners will receive a finisher shirt, commemorative medal and time specific lanyard. Red Sub 3:00 Green Sub 3:30 Yellow Sub 4:00 Blue Over 4:00 Finisher shirt and medal will only be handed out on completion of the marathon. Every Relay Team participant will receive a medal for completing the event. EXPO - Saturday 16 June, 11:00am - 3:00pm Pick up your bib at the Expo - WAMC Clubrooms, 1 Camfield Drive, Burswood. There will be plenty of exhibitors to advise you on everything running, and help you purchase anything you need to help make your running experience the best it can be. TIMING Live results will be available on the website of either BlueChip Timing, www.bluechiptiming.com.au, and WA Marathon Club, www.wamc.org.au. Listen to the commentary on the day for further information on how to access. All registered participants in the event will be recorded by an electronic timing system on crossing the start and finish line. Disposable timing chips are attached to the back of the race bib. Do not remove or peel the plastic timing devices from the race bib. Attach the race bib to the front of the body only, by pinning the bib in the holes at the four corners. Please make sure that the race bib is kept flat and not folded or crumpled. The race bib is allocated to the person nominated on the entry form and is non-transferable to another person. The race bib must remain in its issued form. IF YOU TURN UP WITHOUT YOUR RACE BIB (LOST OR LEFT HOME) THERE WILL BE A $10.00 SURCHARGE TO HAVE ANOTHER RACE BIB ISSUED. POST EVENT - THE CAMFIELD Hang around after your run for a post event treat. 'The Camfield' are offering all participants $5.00 off their first drink purchase for the day! Open from 10:00am and for the finish of the marathon, they will also be making $10 bacon and egg rolls or gourmet sausage rolls. Full menu also available for purchase! DRINK STATIONS & SPECIAL DRINKS Refer to attached map for Drink Stations. Stations will be on average every 3km along the course, at each station there will be water, Shotz rehydration drink and the option to have your own special drinks for collection. Special Drinks must be clearly labelled and delivered to the WAMC Clubrooms by 3:00pm Saturday, June 16. FIRST AID Talis First Aid will be located at the finish line. If you require first aid assistance on course, please notify a drink station attendant, course marshal or a course bike rider who will be able to phone for help. RACE DAY ETIQUETTE Participants must only take drinks from the nominated drink station locations. Participants must not be paced (or accompanied) by nonparticipants either on foot or on bicycles. Breaches of any of these rules may lead to disqualification. VOLUNTEERS We are extremely grateful to all our volunteers who have donated their time to help make the Perth Marathon & Relay the event that it is, please be friendly and courteous to all our volunteers, as they will be to you. KIDS MARATHON When: Sunday, June 17, 8:45am - NEW START TIME! Where: 'The Camfield' On completion, kids will receive a medal, fresh fruit, drink and other goodies. Plus, draw prize bib tags will be collected after the run at the end of the kid s food tables. Draw will take place shortly after near the play ground out front of 'The Camfield' You must be present to claim your prize. All finishers will receive a medal and a finisher s certificate. All participants must complete their race on race day to receive their medal. Make up distances and/or alternate race dates will not be recognised. Kids Marathon Race Pack Collection: Available for collection at the WAMC Clubrooms 11:00pm -3:00pm on Saturday 16 June and on race morning from 7am. Your race pack will include a bib number which must be worn on race day and your free participants t-shirt. Kids Marathon Souvenir Photographs: Marathon Photos will attempt to capture every finisher in the Kids Marathon at the finish line. These photographs will be available on the website, www.marathon-photos.com, shortly after the event. All school age children are encouraged to participate. The maximum age is 12. Kids Play Area: Within The Camfield precinct is a play area for kids. Stay around and watch the marathon and relay as your kids enjoy the playground area. The WA Marathon Club joined the national Kids Marathon Series in 2008. It has been a great success with the Perth Kids Marathon continuing to grow bigger and bigger each year. Its unique format allows kids to run a marathon...1km at a time. All children were encouraged to follow a training program with the aim to run the first 40km over a number of weeks, then on Perth Marathon day complete the final 2.195km across the same finishing line as the Marathon runners.
