Dear Brothers and Co-workers, The Governor As summer is coming to an end, I hope that everyone has had an enjoyable and safe summer. I know that those of us who are parents are really looking forward to the beginning of school. I hope that everyone was able to get a lot of rest this summer because you are going to need it. The Lodge and the Chapter have a lot of activities planned for the fall and winter seasons. Please come out to these events. I always hear from everyone who has come out for our previous events what a good time they had. Please check out the rest of this and future newsletters for the events around the lodge. You can also get the information on the Lodge s Facebook page. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas for an event that you want to see at the Lodge, please contact any officer or you can send your idea to me by e-mail at the address below. I recently was part of a conversation with someone in which the following comment was made: The lodge is just a bar! This bothered me a great deal and it should bother you as well. The Moose is not just a bar! We are so much more than that. We are a Fraternal Organization. This means that we are here to be of service to others. We support our children at Mooseheart and our seniors at Moosehaven. We also support our local community right here in Bucks and Montgomery counties. If you truly believe that the Moose is just a bar, then please come to a lodge or chapter meeting and find out what it really means to be a Moose. Fraternally yours, Joe Rudner Governor governorloom1539@gmail.com W.O.T.M. Wow, I can t believe how fast this summer has gone by. Now the children are back in school, football season has started & the holiday season is just around the corner. I want to thank the coworkers and the men of the Moose that have helped with our Sunday breakfast. It s been very hot in the kitchen this summer but we have had many compliments on our food and the way we have been presenting it. Our next breakfast will be on September 9 and then again on October 14. Don t forget that we have the clambake coming up on September 15 and we have a Paint and Sip coinciding with an Eagles game on October 21. The children s Halloween Party will be held on Sunday, October 28. The Women s Banquet will be held on Thursday, November 8. Necessary sign-up sheets for these events will be available in the lodge. Please be sure to let our Jr. Regent, Linda Baxavaneos, know of any illnesses, hospital stays or deaths. She can be reached at 215-901-8593. Please, if you have any questions or concerns with or about the women of the moose, please feel free to talk to me or call me at 215-262-1623. If I don t have an answer for you, I will get one. Happy Fall???? From the desk of the Administrator The summer is almost over and we can now look forward to the cooling temperatures of autumn. It also reminds us that it is back to school time. Please pay attention to those big yellow busses, remembering not to pass the blinking red light. We have a great number of things planned for the coming months with opportunities for our lodge to shine. I am sure that everyone knows that Jack has retired from the kitchen after serving for many years. Our new chef is Liz and she is certainly fitting in at the lodge. People are coming back to the lodge for a good meal. There are many good things happening in the lodge. One only needs to look around to see them. We welcome any and all ideas to improve our overall performance. Don t forget our Halloween party for the kids in October. The women continue to offer their breakfast on the 2nd Sunday of the month, with eggs to order. Watch the boards for upcoming events when you are in the lodge. I thank each and every one of you for the support you have given to Amy and myself while we transition the lodge in a different direction to make it a better place for all of us.
