Introduction For as long as we can remember reporting on match fixtures has always been done outside of the Play Cricket facility. From Sunday 28 th May 2017 onwards we are proud to announce that ALL after match reporting, by both team captains and match officials, will be conducted from within the Play cricket website. This single, common interface, ensures that clubs, officials and the league all have visibility of outstanding and completed tasks removing any risk of tasks not being completed on time. Whilst we appreciate that changing the reporting process mid-season is less than ideal the benefits to clubs, officials and the league warrant the change and thus we hope you ll embrace this change and help us to continually drive up standards in every way possible. By moving the after-match reporting to Play Cricket we can ensure: - All notifications of outstanding after match reports are automated within Play Cricket notifications to all club admins. The reporting deadline is 22:00 on the Tuesday following Sundays match. This removes any ambiguity around late reporting fines. Reports that have marks below the set thresholds are automatically available to the League for review. This will help us to continually monitor standards throughout the season. The process is simplified by using a single log in and interface for all club activity. Any confusion over what reports you need to complete is removed completely, simplifying the process for all clubs. This guide shows in detail how after-match reporting is conducted and we thank you for your continued support and trust you ll enjoy a great season. Kind regards League IT 3

Registration to Play Cricket To report you MUST have a login to the Play Cricket website. Club officials must be members of the Club s site and match officials will need to be registered with the Beds County Cricket League Play-Cricket site. As all member clubs already use Play-Cricket it is assumed that all Clubs will be able to use the new after-match reporting facility. The following pages explain how to register with Play-Cricket and make sure that you are aligned with your Club (for club officials) and the Beds County Cricket league (for match officials). Setting up your account with Play-Cricket If you need to create a Play-Account then, in the first case, you need to browse to: http://play-cricket.com. In the top right hand corner click on Sign Up Complete your details and click on Continue Now enter your email address and choose a password. Then click on Continue 4

The Play-Cricket website will now send you an email for you to complete your registration. Within this email there is a link to click that verifies and activates your account with Play- Cricket. Click on the Verify and Access your Weekly Stats link to open the following window. Now enter your email address and the password you chose and click on LOG IN. On first log in you are required to accept the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. Tick both and click on ACCEPT. You now can select what notifications you receive. Se below. Make your choices and click on Continue. Your account is now live and you can now join a club (club officials) or League (match officials). 5

Club users - Selecting your Club Club members will need to select the club(s) they belong to. To do this click on Select Club and click continue. A pop-up window appears. Search for your club and click on the thumbs up icon to select your club. You will be returned to the previous screen and you now need to ask your clubs site administrator to approve your account. Once your account has been approved by your club administrator your account will be live. 6

Match Officials Selecting the Beds Country Cricket League Match officials will need to register with the BCCL Play-Cricket site. Complete the registration as per pages 4-5 and you will arrive at the page below: It is entirely possible that you are both a match official and a member of a club and you can do both. However, match officials can simply click on Continue and you arrive at the following page. Click on Select league and a pop up window appears. Search for Bedfordshire and click on the Thumbs up icon for the Bedfordshire County Cricket League. Another box appears and type match official and click on proceed. We will now approve your registration and you ll be able to do Umpire Reports on our play cricket site. 7

Reports by clubs Team Captain Reports After match reporting by a club is done from within your own club site on Play-Cricket. Many thanks to Kevin Wright at Biggleswade CC for allowing me to use their site for testing and to enable me to create this guide. If you do not know your club address on Play-Cricket please get this from your club administrator. The reports you need to complete are controlled by the League so there can be no confusion on whether the report needs to be completed. To complete the report(s) needed browse to your club play-cricket site and login. Once logged in under your name you will see various options as below. Select Team Captain Reports. You now have the Team Captain Reports main page. In the example below I have clicked on Filters and selected Last Week. For demo purposes, I created a dummy cup fixture between Kempston Hammers CC and Biggleswade CC. I declared this a draw! There are three possible colours for report buttons: RED: This report has NOT been completed. ORANGE: This report is complete but contains scores below set thresholds (see explanations on pages 9 and 10) GREEN: The report has been completed. There are two possible reports for clubs to complete based upon your division and game location. They are Ground and Umpire. To complete or edit a report click on its button. 8

Completing the Umpire Report If your fixture shows the Umpire button you are required to complete this report. The content of the report has not changed from the previous report although the layout is different. To complete or edit the report click on the Umpire button and complete the details as below: (use your own marks!) Completing the report is self-explanatory and the marking system is the same as before. Marks are awarded for the umpires between 5=Very Good and 1=Poor. Marks of 3=Average or below will require a comment and the completed report will be ORANGE so that the league can review your comments. Remember the deadline for completing this report is Tuesday at 10pm. 9

Completing the Ground Report If your fixture shows the Ground button you are required to complete this report. The content of the report has not changed from the previous report although the layout is different. To complete or edit the report click on the Ground button and complete the details as below: (use your own marks!) Completing the report is self-explanatory and the marking system is the same as before. Marks are awarded for the umpires between 10=Excellent and 1=Woeful!. Marks of 5 or below will require a comment and the completed report will be ORANGE so that the league can review your comments. Remember the deadline for completing this report is Tuesday at 10pm. 10

Match Officials Fair Play & Ground reporting. Panel umpires are required to complete their fair play and ground reports after each match. The content of these reports is the same as the previous system although they have been created separately rather than as one large report. As before, the match officials should discuss the marks immediately following the match and then agree which panel umpire will complete the marking process online. Any match with at least one appointed panel umpire must be reported on. To complete your match reporting in the first instance, browse to the Bedfordshire County Cricket League Play-Cricket website at: https://bedsccl.play-cricket.com and click on Login. Under your name the drop-down window now looks like below. Click on Umpire Reports. You now have the main Umpire Reports screen. In the example below I have clicked on Filters and selected Last Week. There are three possible colours for report buttons: RED: This report has NOT been completed. ORANGE: This report is complete but contains scores below set thresholds (see explanations on pages 9 and 10) GREEN: The report has been completed. 11

Completing the Ground Report From the main screen locate the fixture where you officiated and click on the Ground button. As mentioned previously the marking system has not changed and guidance is in the handbook for pitch marking. (use your own marks!) The threshold for facility marking is 5 and for pich marking it is 3. Marks of this or lower will require an explanation and the completed report will be marked as ORANGE for review by league officials. Click on Save to complete your report. 12

Completing the Fair Play Report From the main screen locate the fixture where you officiated and click on the Fair Play button. As mentioned previously the marking system has not changed and guidance is in the handbook for pitch marking. (use your own marks!) As per the Ground report the marking scheme for Fair Play has not changed. The Threshold for league review has been set at 5 for the fair play reports and marks of this or lower will require an explanatory comment below the mark awarded. Reports containing marks below the threshold will be saved as ORANGE. Click on save to complete the report. 13

Existing Reports May 7 th, 14 th and 21 st 2017 The league appreciates that changing the reporting structure mid-season should not incur additional administration for clubs or match officials. When you log into your Play-Cricket sites fixtures from the first three weeks of the season will be showing as not completed. Our League IT manager will manually create these reports for you copied from data received in the previous system. If you know you have not completed these reports then please can you log on and complete them for fixtures passed. 14
