It s simple, just bring in your health care card, a voided check or credit card for the automatic bank debit and inquire at the Courtesy Desk!

GUEST AND FACILITY POLICIES www.ymca1.org GUEST PASSES The purpose of our guest pass policy is to enhance member service to current members who are encouraging a friend to join or have an out of town visitor. Each membership is allotted 3 guest passes per year. Guests are limited to 3 visits per year. After that, we encourage guests to take out their own Y membership. PROGR CREDITS & REFUNDS There are no refunds on programs unless the YMCA cancels the program. Voluntary withdrawal from a program will result in a program credit ONLY. There are no refunds or program credits for swim lessons that are cancelled due to poor weather (thunder and lightning). If possible, contact the Aquatic Director to schedule a make-up class. PROGR PARTICIPANT CARD Program Participants will be given program cards at the Courtesy Desk to show that they have checked in and are paid in full. Please give your program card to your instructor/teacher at the beginning of class. YMCA MEMBERSHIP POLICY There are NO refunds on YMCA memberships. If you would like to cancel your bank draft membership the Y requires 10 days written notice. You can simply complete a bank draft cancellation form at the Courtesy Desk or mail or fax a letter, requesting your cancellation. We MUST have your signature with a bank draft cancellation form. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES As a volunteer-based organization, the YMCA thrives on people helping people. The act of sharing, teaching, giving and working with others can bring new meaning to your life. NATIONWIDE MEMBERSHIP As a member of the Smithfield Y, you are able to utilize any YMCA in the country, as long as you are using your home Y at least 50% of the time. Your home Y is the YMCA that you took your membership out at (in this case the Smithfield YMCA is your home Y). Nationwide Membership is valid for YMCA facility usage ONLY and programs that are included in membership at other Ys. Each Y has the right to restrict usage so please call ahead based on your needs. All visiting Y participants pay the Non- Member rate for fee based programs.

BEFORE SCHOOL PROGR The Before School Program is for Smithfield Elementary children in grades K - 5. This program is held at the Y and runs from 6:45 until the start of the school day. The Y will bus all children to their respective school each day. All busses are monitored by a YMCA School s Out Staff Member. Breakfast is served until 7:40 and rotates between cereal, toast, waffles, fruits, smoothies, etc. Children choose from quiet activities, board games, arts & crafts, outside play & homework help daily! Get to work on-time and rest assure that your child will have a healthy breakfast, and be prepared for their day! BEFORE SCHOOL FEES: 3 days per week $155.00/month Before & After $360.00/month 5 days per week $244.00/month Before & After $584.00/month **$30 Registration Fee per Family** *All School s Out Participants MUST be a Smithfield Y Member & pay through a monthly auto debit! AFTER SCHOOL PROGR The After School Program is for Smithfield children grades K - 5. This program will be held at Old County Road School. OCRS has a cafeteria, gym and beautiful playground area as well as outdoor basketball courts and nature trails. All counselors are First Aid, CPR and Child Abuse Prevention trained. OCRS students will be dismissed to Y staff and all other schools will be bussed to OCRS from their respective school, with a bus monitored by a Y School s Out Staff member. The latest pick-up time is 6:00. The Y will provide snack, homework help and all of the FUN! AFTER SCHOOL FEES: 3 days per week $261.00/month Before & After $360.00/month 5 days per week $410.00/month Before & After $584.00/month **$30 Registration Fee per Family** *All School s Out Participants MUST be a Smithfield Y Member & pay through a monthly auto debit! MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGR The YMCA will provide supervised bus transportation from the Middle School to the YMCA. Once participants are at the Y, they may use the Wellness Center for working out, start their homework, play board games, play gaga ball, etc. At 2:30 participants will then load the bus again and head to Old County Road School, where they will participate in a CIT (Counselor In Training) Program. This program will help guide middle school students to make good decisions, assist the younger children with HW & activities and earn free time at the Y! MIDDLE SCHOOL FEES: 3 days per week $290.00/month or 5 days per week $425.00/month

SMITHFIELD YMCA PRE-SCHOOL SWIM LESSONS Pre-school swim lessons are for children alone in the water. There will be a maximum of 6 children per 1 swim instructor in each class. Some classes even have 2 swim instructors for up to 6 children. Pre-School level lessons help children develop endurance, gain self-confidence and grow an appreciation for water safety. Children will progress through lessons at their own rate and will move up when the instructor feels that they are ready. Each session of swim lessons runs for 7 weeks. Pick a day that works best for your schedule and you will attend that day and time for 7 weeks. Pike (beginner) & Eel (intermediate) Ages 3-5 years Members/Non-Members: $68/$95 Using a bubble as flotation, children will explore the aquatic environment as we focus on building confidence. Children will learn the basic steps of freestyle swimming, breaststroke & floating on their backs. Flotation bubbles will be reduced as the session progresses. Monday 5:00-5:30 Thursday 9:45-10:15 Tuesday 9:45-10:15 Friday 5:00-5:30 6:00-6:30 Wednesday 5:00-5:30 Saturday 9:00-9:30 11:00-11:30 11:30-12:00 Ray (advanced Intermediate) & Starfish (advanced) Ages 3-5 yrs Children in Ray/Starfish levels should be wearing either no flotation bubble or a maximum of a one bubble. Children will develop stroke technique, gain endurance while swimming without assistance, learn how to dive and will continue to learn the importance of water safety. SMITHFIELD YMCA YOUTH SWIM LESSONS Youth swim lessons are for ages 6-14 years old. Each level of swim lessons builds upon the preceding level. Children will progress through lessons at their own rate and will move up when the instructor feels that they are ready. Youth lessons (beyond Polliwog level/s) focus on increasing endurance, refining stroke technique, learning to dive, and water safety such as treading water, handling leg cramps, falling out of a boat and more! Members/Non-Members: $68/$95 Polliwog I & Polliwog II (beginner & advanced beginner) Ages 6-14 yrs Using a bubble to help children focus on stroke development, children will learn 3 of the 4 main strokes of swimming while practicing floating, flutter kicks, gliding and gaining confidence in the water. Polliwog I and Polliwog II swimmers wear 2-3 bubbles and can be nervous swimmers at times. Monday 4:15-5:00 Friday 4:15-5:00 Tuesday 5:15-6:00 Saturday 10:10-10:55 11:30-12:15 Wednesday 4:15-5:00 Guppy, Minnow, Fish (intermediate & advanced intermediate) Ages 6-14 years Children in these levels should not wear any flotation device. Children will build endurance and must be able to swim 25-50 yards unassisted, consecutively. Children will perfect their freestyle stroke and begin dives & treading water. Monday 4:15-5:00 Friday 4:15-5:00 Tuesday 5:15-6:00 Saturday 10:10-10:55 Wednesday 4:15-5:00 Fish, Flying Fish, Shark (advanced intermediate & advanced) Ages 6-14 years Stroke development and endurance will be the focus of a fish, flying fish and shark level swim participant. The butterfly will also be introduced. Swimmers must be able to complete 100 yards consecutively and without resting. The instructor may teach some of the class from the pool deck to get a better bird s eye view of the swimmer s stroke technique/s. Saturday 11:30-12:15

SMITHFIELD YMCA PARENT/CHILD SWIM LESSONS Waterbabies Ages 6 months - 24 months Waterbabies is designed to help parents and infants feel comfortable in the water while providing fun such as singing, water toys and interaction with other children. Parent/s must accompany child in the water. Depending on the age and size of the participant, bubbles are provided. Tuesday Wednesday Saturday 9:15-9:45 5:30-6:00 11:00-11:30 Member/Non-Member $68/$95 Pike with Parent Ages 24 months - 36 months Pike with Parent is designed to further your child s enthusiasm for the water and help both the parent and child feel comfortable in the aquatic environment. Almost all children will wear a bubble during this class and learn to float and swim independently of their parent. Toys and songs are incorporated for child interaction and fun! Tuesday Wednesday Saturday 9:15-9:45 5:30-6:00 9:35-10:05 Member/Non-Member $68/$95 Little Pikes Ages 3-4 years This transitional class is 7 weeks long. The first 3 weeks the parent will accompany the child to class and the last 4 weeks will be the child alone class. This is the last step to transitioning your toddler before they prepare for a Pike alone class. SMITHFIELD Y PRIVATE LESSONS & PARTY RENTALS Private Swim Lessons Private swim lessons are designed to help children swim one- on- one with a qualified instructor. Semi-Private lessons are for up to two swimmers. All lessons are a half an hour each. Private Lessons must be paid for at the time of booking. All lessons must be scheduled through the Aquatic Director at ext 106. Private Lesson Fee Semi-Private Lesson Fee Member/Non $20/$35 Member/Non $35/$65 Create Your Own Lesson The Smithfield YMCA is offering a new opportunity for swim participants. Have you ever wanted to put your child in swim lessons but wished they could be with their friends, or do you wish you could socialize with your friends while your children enjoy lessons together? If so, this is the program for you! Gather a group of friends/relatives and call our Aquatic Director. We will schedule a group lesson during a time that YOU PICK! You can have a minimum of 3 children and a maximum of 6 children in a lesson! Member/Non $70 per child / $100 per child Make-Up Lessons Pre-School and Youth make-up lessons are for children who miss class due to illness ONLY. Make up classes must be scheduled with the Aquatic Director at 949-2480 ext 106. Make-ups are pending availability and are not guaranteed. Birthday Party Rentals Let the Smithfield YMCA host your next Birthday Party to keep the fun the same but the mess out of your house! Each party rental is provided with a Party Hostess and 1 lifeguard for up to 25 children (additional children will receive a 2nd lifeguard for an additional fee). The Party Hostess will set-up all the tables, chairs, food, refreshments and cater to any special requests that you may have. Parties are held on Saturday evenings from either 4:00-6:00 pm or 5:30-7:30 or Sundays from 12:15-2:15 pm. Children will eat food, play any games you request and open gifts! All rentals must be paid in full at the time of reservation. Up to 1 Birthday Child may be added for a fee of $50. All parties will spend the first hour in the Pool swimming and the second hour of the party in the Party Room for food, cake and presents. For children ages 5 and below, there must be at least 1 adult per every 5 children in the pool. No outside flotation allowed. The Y will provide flotation for children. Lap lanes are for lap swimmers only and Y aquatic equipment such as kickboards and barbells are to be used during Y Programs only. The Y provides 1, 2 and 3 bubbles for children that require flotation. No outside flotation is allowed! Please feel free to help yourself to a bubble. A complete list of Pool Rules are posted in the pool area and enforced by the lifeguards. Please, no food or drink in the pool area or the locker rooms. Pool Information The Smithfield YMCA s swimming pool is 25 yards long and 5 lap lanes wide with a depth of 3 6 inches in the shallow end and 10 6 in the deep end. One swimming mile is 1,650 yards which is equivalent to 66 lengths or 33 laps of the pool. *The remainder of the pool is for open swim when the # of lap lanes is designated above. Locker Room Information The Women s Locker Room is for Women ONLY. Anyone accompanying a child of the opposite sex must use the Family Locker Room. The Men s Locker Room is for men ONLY. Anyone accompanying a child of the opposite sex must use the Family Locker Room. The Family Locker Room is designed for parents and guardians with children. This locker room consists of 5 private changing rooms and 4 private bathroom stalls. Clothes MUST be worn in the common area at all times.

SMITHFIELD YMCA DOLPHINS COMPETITIVE SWIM TE The Smithfield YMCA Dolphins Swim Team trains swimmers from ages 5-18 years of age in the area of competitive swimming. The emphasis of the Y s Swim Team is on teaching the value of competition through teamwork, sportsmanship and doing one s best. Our coaches are dedicated to providing all swimmers with a positive and healthy swimming experience. The Competitive Swim Season is a huge commitment by both swimmers and their families, and the YMCA is here to help swimmers fulfill their commitment to their teammates & their school responsibilities. The Y swim team offers swimmers the opportunity to be on a team, yet swim against your own personal best times as well. The Smithfield Y Dolphins team camaraderie is hard to match and an inspiration to anyone that has seen the team in action at a swim meet! Join the swim team today, for experiences and memories that will last a lifetimes of tomorrows. All age groups for swim meets are determined by a child s age as of 12/1/18. New swimmers that are unsure of their practice group can contact Aquatic Director & Head Coach, Jen Bibeault at 949.2480 ext. 106 to set-up a swim assessment. Swimmers MUST be members of the Smithfield YMCA. Practice Schedule Swimmer s practice schedule will vary based on the practice group they are assigned to. Returning swimmers will receive an email from Head Coach Jen with their practice times at the end of August. New swimmers may try the first week of practice beginning on Monday, Sept. 10th after contacting Coach Jen for an exact timeframe. Swim Meets Swim Meet schedules will be handed out within the first month of practice to all participants. Not every swim meet is mandatory, however, swimmers must participate in at least 3 swim meets in the SENECY league to be eligible to swim in the SENECY championship meet at the end of the season. The goal is to have every swimmer on our team be at the SENECY swim meet at, Boston University. SENECY - South Eastern New England Cluster of YMCAs Swim Team Fees Parent s Club Fee $35.00/swimmer & Swim Team Fee: $395.00/swimmer **All swimmers must be members of the Smithfield YMCA* JUNIOR DOLPHINS SWIM The Junior Dolphins is for swimmers that are still practicing stroke technique & building their endurance. All Junior Dolphins swimmers will join the regular practice times within their age group by January of the season. A Y Swim Team Coach will get in the water with the Junior Dolphins each week to help refine strokes, increase endurance and speed, and encourage the swimmers. Junior Dolphins cannot wear a floatation device and must be able to swim 25 yards at a time without stopping. Junior Dolphins may attend all swim meets and are considered a part of the official Smithfield YMCA Dolphins Swim Team. The Junior Dolphin practice times will provide swimmers with actual stroke technique and critiquing, in a smaller setting than the full swim team practices.
