Inhalation 1 / 10

Poly(Hexafluoropropen e/tetrafluoroethylene) : Dust may cause: Respiratory tract irritation The thermal decomposition vapours of fluorinated polymers may cause polymer fume fever with flu-like symptoms in humans, especially when smoking contaminated tobacco. Symptoms usually appear after several hours and resolve within 1 to 2 days. Repeated episodes of polymer fume fever may result in persistent lung effects. Polymer may extensively decompose if severely overheated or burned. Inhalation of fluorinated decomposition products may cause lung irritation and pulmonary oedema. Symptoms may be delayed for several hours. Symptoms may be severe or life-threatening. Carcinogenicity None of the components present in this material at concentrations equal to or greater than 0.1% are listed by IARC, NTP, or OSHA, as a carcinogen. SECTION 3. COMPOSITION/INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS Component CAS-No. Concentration Poly(Hexafluoropropene/Tetrafluoroethylene) 25067-11-2 50-60 % Polyethylene Oxide Mono(1-Isobutyl-3,5-Dimethylhexyl) Ether 60828-78-6 1-5 % Water 7732-18-5 35-49 % SECTION 4. Eye contact Inhalation Ingestion General advice : Hold eyelids apart and flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention. : Remove from exposure, lie down. Move to fresh air in case of accidental inhalation of fumes from overheating or combustion. Artificial respiration and/or oxygen may be necessary. Consult a physician if necessary. : Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical attention. : Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. When symptoms persist or in all cases of doubt seek medical advice. SECTION 5. FIREFIGHTING MEASURES Flammable Properties Flash point Autoignition temperature Fire and Explosion Hazard Suitable extinguishing media Firefighting Instructions : 530-550 C (986-1,022 F) Method : ASTM D 1929 : 520-560 C (968-1,040 F) Method: ASTM D 1929 : Hazardous decomposition products formed under fire conditions. Hydrogen fluoride Fluorinated compounds Carbon oxides : Water spray, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Foam, Dry chemical : Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit. Wear neoprene gloves during cleaning up work after a fire. The solid polymer can only be burned with difficulty. SECTION 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES NOTE: Review FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES and HANDLING (PERSONNEL) sections before proceeding with cleanup. Use appropriate PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT during clean-up. Safeguards (Personnel) : Refer to protective measures listed in sections 7 and 8. Spill Cleanup : Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly while observing environmental regulations. If liquid has been spilt in large quantities clean up 3 / 10

promptly by scoop or vacuum. Contain spillage, soak up with non-combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and transfer to a container for disposal according to local / national regulations (see section 13). Accidental Release Measures : Prevent material from entering sewers, waterways, or low areas. Should not be released into the environment. SECTION 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Handling (Personnel) Handling (Physical Aspects) Storage Storage temperature : Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid inhalation of vapour or mist. General precaution for all plastics and elastomers: Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at dryers, machinery and at places where dust or volatiles can be generated. Do not contaminate tobacco products. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. : Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at machinery. : Keep in a dry, cool place. No special restrictions on storage with other products. Keep away from tobacco products. Do not freeze. : 10-27 C (50-81 F) SECTION 8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION Engineering controls Personal protective equipment Respiratory protection Hand protection : Ensure adequate ventilation. : In case of mist, spray or aerosol exposure wear suitable personal respiratory protection and protective suit. : Material: PVC or other plastic material gloves Glove thickness: > 0.6 mm Wearing time: 480 min Additional protection: Please observe the instructions regarding permeability 4 / 10

and breakthrough time which are provided by the supplier of the gloves. Also take into consideration the specific local conditions under which the product is used, such as the danger of cuts, abrasion, and the contact time.
