The camps provide specially designed and professionally guided road cycling routes, access to the Gravel World Champion, small group seminars focusing on training/tactics/nutrition/tips, accommodation, airport transfers & logistical support. ITINERARY DAY ONE Sunday 2 April 2017 Malaga, Spain We will be available to meet you at Malaga International Airport at 10am. Depending on your travel plans we can also organise an earlier collection from Malaga Central Train Station. From Malaga we drive 1.5hr to Ronda spectacularly located on the Tajo Gorge. Following lunch there will be an initial camp briefing and time to set-up the bikes before your warm-up ride. You will ride towards the small town Setenil de las Bodegas which was the start town for Stage 5 of the 2017 La Vuelta a Andalucia! Today s Ride: 55km cycling / 800m gain
DAY TWO Monday 3 April 2017 Sierra de Grazalema The Sierra de Grazalema national park is a dream cycling destination. Enjoy the turquoise coloured reservoirs, the white-washed Andalucian villages and riding up and down quiet mountain roads with spectacular views! The challenge for the day is the Puerto de las Palomas climb. Palomas is a Category 1 climb that has been used 3 times during La Vuelta a España. It is a 12km climb with a constant 6% grade and we would be lying if we said this wasn t our favourite climb in Andalucia. Seminar 1: Gran Fondo Do s & Dont s will be rolled out this evening! Today s Ride: 95km cycling / 1750m gain
DAY THREE Tuesday 4 April 2017 El Chorro Today you will ride out to the Malaga Lakes District. The winding roads through the Serrania de Ronda were historically infamous for bandits but today they are made for road cyclists! The Puerto del Viento climb was used during Stage 5 of the 2017 La Vuelta a Andalucia. With an average grade of 3.5% it is the perfect warm-up climb! Today s Ride: 110km cycling / 1800m gain
DAY FOUR Wednesday 5 April 2017 Ronda A shorter ride is planned today to provide some active recovery! For those who would like to ride some extra km there will also be an optional loop available. Seminar 2: Physical & Mental Preparation for Endurance Challenges awaits! Today s Ride: 60km cycling / 1200m gain DAY FIVE Thursday 6 April 2017 Sierra de Grazalema Today s objective is the Puerto del Boyar climb. This Category 1 climb is straight from La Vuelta (14km & ave. grade of 5.6%) Note: please remember to leave some energy for what looks like a straightforward climb back to Ronda. Having already cycled Boyar this small blimp has a surprising habit of causing issues! Today s Ride: 110km cycling / 1800m gain
DAY SIX Friday 7 April 2017 Malaga Return After five consecutive days on the bike we will assess the condition of the group and any specific individual requirements before designing our final group ride. During the early afternoon there will be time to pack up the bikes before a 1.5hr transfer from Ronda to Malaga. The Sierra guides will have you at Malaga International Airport by 6pm. Please let us know if you would like any post-camp accommodation in central Malaga.
