At the Institute of Managers and Leaders (IML) we firmly believe in our vision, creating better managers and leaders for a better society. And a better society includes the equal and fair treatment of women. IML s annual International Women s Day (IWD) Great Debate seeks to change Australian society for the better by creating, supporting and championing women in leadership. With company policies like affirmative action, maternity leave and blind recruitment helping to combat the pay gap and the glass ceiling, Australia is making progress towards equal representation of gender in business. While there is still considerable progress to be made, it seems that the importance of gender equality is now more widely embraced than ever in business and beyond. Through international movements like the Women s Marches and high-profile campaigns like #MeToo, women in leadership have changed the world for future generations. Be welcomed by our interesting and witty MC who will be on hand to keep things on track, on time, and on topic. Throughout the lunch you ll hear from IML and our charity partner, and have an opportunity to raise funds via our fundraising raffle. A delish lunch is served and the debate kicks off with six hand-picked, interesting and opinionated Australian leaders debating for their assigned team. With the room buzzing following the first four debaters, each team will present their closing argument. The winning team is elected by audience applause (the crowd goes wild). The luncheon will conclude with the drawing of our charity raffle prize winners along with the announcement of the day s fundraising tally!
