MICROSOFT K.P.S. Newsletter Thanksgiving Dinner Thank You Our school community thanksgiving dinner has been taking place for 32 years. It would not happen without everyone s help. Thank you to the potato and carrot peelers and slicers and the fantastic kitchen help and servers. Without their help our special event would not have taken place. Special thanks go out to Gwen S.P. for organizing this event. NOVEMBER 2017

N OV E MBE R 2017 P AGE 3 Intermediate Frisbee Tournament Junior Frisbee Tournament KPS hosted a frisbee tournament for students in grades 4, 5 & 6 on Friday, October 20. The tournament was advertised as a fun tournament and though scores were kept, the end result lived up to its advertising! The weather was perfect for Frisbee (no wind!) and the turnout from others schools was great as well. Each team played 6 games throughout the day. Participating schools were KPS, St. Andrew s, Palmer Rapids and St. John Bosco. Our students put good effort into all their games and showed excellent sportsmanship throughout the day. Abby, Josh, Faith, Maddy, Gus and Cody did a fantastic job reffing the games. Thank you to Lawana, Gwen, Rachelle, Kiona, Emma and Lilly for all their help with the canteen.
We are looking for donations of baked goods for the Gingerbread Café at our Christmas Concert on December 20th. We will be having a kid s craft market table at the Christmas concert if any children would like to make things to sell. Please check out the flyer in the newsletter for the Samko & Miko Toy Warehouse fundraiser November 8 to November 12th. We will be having a gift basket raffle again this year at the Christmas concert on December 20th. If you would like to donate a basket or items to go into a basket please contact Gwen at gwen.w.stewart@gmail.com or call the school. Thanks to everyone for your support! On November 22nd stick a toonie or a loonie on Mrs. Metzger and help St. Francis Memorial Hospital to purchase a new Portable Heart Monitor! A new portable heart monitor will allow care givers at St. Francis Memorial Hospital to monitor heart patients wherever they are in the hospital, allowing greater mobility and freedom and eliminating the need to be connected and disconnected several times a day from stationary monitors. This technology comes with a price tag of $53,000, which is why they need our help! Thank you for making a difference! The Renfrew County and District Health Unit will be holding a Flu Clinic in Killaloe on Tuesday, November 21st from 3-6 p.m. at the Killaloe Lions Club. Donations of cutlery, in particular spoons, are needed in our lunchroom. Our supply is now depleted. Also, please remember to send the necessary cutlery in with your child s lunch. Thank you!
