26 TH ANNUAL SHITO-RYU KARATE-DO GENBUKAI CANADA KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS Date: Saturday, April 9, 2011 Location: New Holy Rosary High School 6611 39 th Street, Lloydminster, Alberta Time: Tournament begins at 10:00 a.m. sharp! Registration: 8:00 a.m. (Multiple registration tables in use) Fee: $35 (one event or more) Family (additional members pay $25 each) Events: Individual Kata, Kumite. and Kobudo. Awards: Matches: Kata: New style custom made medallions will be awarded to all top three finishers in each division. All contestants will be receive a specially printed participation certificate. All coloured belt matches shall be two-minutes / 3 points. Black (red) belt matches shall be 2 minutes / 3 full points or 6 half-points. All kumite events will be double elimination. All belt levels must perform a kata, appropriate to their belt level. See attached kata schedule to ensure you present a correct kata. It is the responsibility of the contestant to perform a kata within their level. Kata competition will use the flag system. Kobudo will use the point System. Kit: Each competitor is responsible for arriving at the tournament with a complete Kit, which includes a white, traditional karate-gi (free of any markings other a dojo crest), a belt, white only hand protectors, groin protector, tooth guard. Glasses and jewellery may not be worn during kumite events under any circumstances. Karate-gis must be clean and in good repair. Sleeves and pants must be properly cut and hemmed and cannot be rolled up. Tee shirts or other garments worn under the gi must be pure white in colour only! Officials: Black belts will be asked to assist with officiating and time / score keeping. Formal officiating attire must be worn and will be supplied. Officials must wear their karate-gi.
