State 4-H Camps These State 4-H Camps are open on 4-H Online and wil l cl ose June 1!! -Craft Camp, June 26-28, ages 9-19, 4-H Center, $200 -Junior Camp, $170, ages 9-12, 4-H Center Session 1: July 10-12, Session 2: July 17-19 -Adventure & Chal l enge, $170, ages 13-15, 4-H Center, Session 1: July 10-12, Session 2: July 17-19 -Cl overbud Camp, $170 per adult and child, ages 5-9, parent must attend and must have gone through background check process, 4-H Center, July 7-9 Ross Photography Contest It's time for the Ross Foundation 4-H Photography Contest. The contest provides an opportunity for Arkansas 4-H'ers to demonstrate, compete and exhibit their photography skills. All 4-H members age 9-19 are eligible. Cloverbuds are welcome to enter the contest, but will not be eligible for the State Prizes. For the county contest, 4-H members are able to enter up to one photo in each of the 4 categories. Categories are: Living - Black and White Living - Color Non-Living - Black and white Non-Living - Color Please print an 8x10 of each entry and bring the photos on a CD, flash drive, or email to srogers@uaex.edu. Photos and CD/Drive will be returned to members. We will have judges select the best photos for each category and those will go on to the state level. 1st-3rd will receive ribbons.
Photographs entered in the Ross Foundation 4-H Photography Contest MUST be of scenes or subjects in Arkansas. The pictures must have been taken during the current contest year, July 2016 - June 2017. Digital cameras should be set at the highest resolution. The photo may be enhanced to improve quality, and you may change a color image into black and white. 8x10 and picture files need to be submitted by end of day May 26. District O-Rama District O-Rama is coming up quickly! June 20 at Malvern High School! We will register you at the county level by June 1. Big B Day/Talks & Talent will be May 13, which is a District O-Rama qualifier for juniors and seniors. (Cloverbuds are welcome to participate in the county Big B Day/Talks&Talent, but will not go on to District) Events that will occur at Big B Day and Talks & Talents: Reel into Sport Fishing Baitcasting Bicycle BB Gun Safety Performing Arts - Instrumental Performing Arts - Vocal Performing Arts - Dance Fashion Revue: Purchased and Constructed Talks and Demos that include, but are not limited to: Animal Science, Citizenship, Consumer Economics, Entomology Talk, Environmental Stewardship, Health, Horse, Human Development, Public Speaking, Safety, Innovative Technology, and Vet Science Other O-Rama events that are first come, first serve are: Crops and Weeds, Food Fair, Forestry, Ornamental Horticulture (junior open, senior spot taken), and Wildlife (4 juniors and 4 seniors can go in Wildlife).

TLC is scheduled for June 14-16, 2017 at the Arkansas 4-H Center. Ambassadors and state officers arrive June 13 for the pre-conference to prepare for delegates. Registration for TLC will be open to all senior 4-H'ers from April 21 to May 24 on 4HOnline under the event "2017 Teen Leader Conference". Cost is $140 for Ambassadors and $180 for delegates and adults. A lot happens during TLC: June 13 - Ambassador/State Officer pre-conference (arrive at 1:00 p.m.) June 14 a.m. - Ambassador Interviews (letters have been mailed) June 14 p.m. - Teen Star/Hall of Fame Banquet (will receive separate invite) June 14 p.m. - Museum of Discovery Amazing Science display kicks off TLC! June 15 p.m. Georgia 4-H Clovers and Company performs June 16 - H.K. Derryberry capnote speaker - amazing story A detailed agenda will be mailed to each TLC participant and county
office after registration closes. Delegates arrive Wednesday, June 14th at 1:00 p.m. and leave at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Because of an abundance of Teen Stars named this year, and limited space available, we are limiting the banquet to two guests per teen star. However, additional guests are welcome to come watch the ceremony in the auditorium after the banquet. Georgia 4-H Clovers and Company are coming back to Arkansas! This incredible group will perform Thursday, June 15 at the 4-H Center auditorium. Please, invite your county 4-H families to attend - all are welcome! TLC Servers Servers are needed for the Teen Star/Hall of Fame Banquet on Wednesday night, June 14, 2017. 4-H'ers ages 11-14 sign up for the event "2017 Teen Star & Hall of Fame Banquet server" on 4HOnline if they wish to serve during the banquet. Servers will wear a white button-down shirt with a collar, black pants and black shoes and be fed after they serve. We will accept 25 servers.
Teen Leaders Club Teen Leaders will meet on Monday, May 15 at 5:45 pm at the Extension Office. Never been to teen leaders? Come check us out if you're between the ages 12-19!
If you come to the meeting, you receive a ticket. If you bring a friend, you and your friend receive a ticket on top of your ticket for coming to the meeting.
