Falcon Fastbreak INSIDE THIS ISSUE: Coaches 1 Corner Season Recap 2-3 Senior Night 4 Record 5 Breakers Recognition 6 Camp! 7 Coaches Corner Happy March Madness! March is always one of the best months for a basketball fan. Endless basketball games which means a minor hit to my produc vity in the office. As much as I love watching March Madness, I crave the feeling of being in the NCAA Tournament. It mo vates me to be a be er coach and helps prepare our team for next season. I hope it lights a fire under our players to want to experience what other teams feel. This March, our team and staff have taken a step back and been able to reflect on this past season. We have been able to see how far we have come as a program in two short years. You can look at all the stats from this year and it speaks for itself. We have improved in almost every category. We have had record breaking performances by mul ple players throughout the year. Plus, it is always nice to see more W s in the record book! Although all those facts may be impressive to outsiders, what stands out to me is the growth of our players both on and off the court. Their belief and buying in to what we are trying to accomplish is what made this year so successful for our program! You could see the confidence in our players grow day in and day out. Their hard work and dedica on con nues to be rewarded out on the court. It was truly exci ng to see as someone who witnesses the daily grind for our players. The future is bright and it is something I am very excited to be apart of. The core group we have coming back is more dedicated then ever before. It s a great group to have leading our freshmen into ba le next season! The Mountain West should be prepared because we are on the rise. Every person who is a part of this program can feel it and believes it. November 10th of 2017 will be here before we all know it. Un l then, I hope you can enjoy learning more about our program in the Falcon Fastbreak! Coach Fitz
Season Recap My favorite game this season was when we beat Utah State. Everybody was playing with a lot of energy and we were having a lot of fun out there. When Kailin hit the go ahead three with three seconds le, the whole arena erupted and Dee was running in circles and jumping up and down. It was just a fun atmosphere to play in! Cortney Porter 18 Although we experienced ups and downs this season, the greatest lesson we learned was to never make excuses for ourselves because we are capable of doing amazing things when we each do what we are best at. Vennessanah Itgubu 19 I think we figured out the way we have to play to beat teams and I think towards the end we learned more about consistency and focus. We will head into next season a much more experienced team. Kassady Huffman 20
Season Recap I will never forget our win over Utah State. It was at home and we won on a last second three. I remember passing the ball to Kailin and just watching the path of the ball as she shot it. It felt like everything was in slow mo on. When the ball went through the net everything sped back up to real me. That was definitely a team win! Erika Chapman 18 "Going to the Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC with my teammates was one of the coolest things I have ever had the opportunity to do with a team. I will never forget it." Mariah Forde 20 This season we faced many challenges and had to overcome adversity, but we were able to come together as a team and con nued to get be er every game. Jenn Urbaniak 20 My favorite season memory was the Utah State game at home. We were in the game the en re me and then Kailin hit the three to win the game. It was so much fun, and everybody got so excited. Sarah Pierce 20
Senior Night Senior Night was one of the most memorable nights of my athle c career. The team decorated the en re locker room, made posters for me, and decorated my locker with pictures and goodies that I love! Many of my friends came to the game which was also very touching. It was also awesome to get the chance to start that game! A er the game, there was a ceremony the coaches and Jordan wonderfully put together. The video that my teammates and family put together was incredible and something that I will cherish for years to come. It was an extremely memorable night! Sarah Falvey 17

Recognition Recogni on is one of the hardest things you ll do, but you re glad you go through it with your classmates and in the end they really make it worth it. Kassady Huffman 20 Once recogni on was over, my roommate and I came back to our rooms where the upperclassman had decorated our room, and placed our clothes on our beds. My roommate and I just laid on the ground laughing and crying from pain and joy. It was a great me. Kailin Davis 20 "Being recognized is one of most relieving feelings. Recogni on was hard, but it was also really fun knowing how close you were to being done. I had a lot of really awesome experiences during recogni on."
