President Denny Baker Hi Everyone, It s September and time for the Big Bird. This is our first year without Hermon, so we want to make this event a success to honor his memory. Hermon loved all large airplanes but warbirds were his passion. Please help support your club, lend a hand and have some fun. We need suggestions on events after the Big Bird and where we can have our winter meetings. See you at the meeting. Denny 2
It s starting to get light later and dark earlier. Summer is gone and fall is here. I didn't fly as much as I wanted to this summer but I had a lot of different things away from the field I had to take care of this summer. I still hope to get as much flying in this fall as i can. Vice President Wayne Hood Big Bird is coming up next Sunday. Any members that can help would be appreciated. If you have any planes, helicopters, drones or misc RC equipment that you want to bring to the Big Bird and set along the fence for sale that would be fine. Wayne Hood 3

Thanks to Moe for this blast from the past. An article from the July, 1999 Pekin RC Club newsletter 17 years ago. It tells the story of Hermon s maiden flight of his giant C-47. If any members have old newsletters with interesting articles..send them in and I ll use them from time to time. Ed. 6
