FAIRWAY HILLS SENIOR GOLFERS Event Schedule 2018 The entry fee for each week will be $5. This is to ensure adequate funds through the year for weekly prize money, monthly closest to pin contests, prize money for the Match Play and Medal Play Championships and after golf snacks and other needs. We will once again present trophies for the following: Match Play Champion, Medal Play Champion, Player s Tournament Champion, Funny Money Champion as well as the low average net and low average gross winners. There are 20 events scheduled that would count toward the low net and low gross trophies. Those are the events where a recordable score can be generated. You must have a participated in a minimum of 2/3 of those events that are played to qualify. We will again be presenting a trophy for the Most Improved Player. To make the award objective it will be based on the difference between the players starting index and their index after the September rounds. To qualify a player must have played in 2/3 of the 20 recordable rounds during the season, assuming all 20 are played. New members must record two individual scores prior to being qualified for weekly events prize money and record four individual rounds before being considered for most improved player. Any player whose age and handicap exceed 99 may elect to tee off on holes 2, 5, 16 and 18 from the forward tees. Two strokes will be taken from their handicap. If one of those players chooses to play forward on only two of those holes they will lose 1 stroke from their handicap. In addition, any player who wishes to play hole number 11 from the forward tee box may do so and lose 1 stroke from their handicap. New this year, the forward tees will be USGA rated for men. We encourage any of our golfers to play it forward to enhance your league participation enjoyment. FM next to the event means the scores count for Funny Money. All FM events will be for the same prize money. For this year 1. In all team events (excluding scrambles), 90% of handicaps will be used. During individual events 100% of handicaps will be used. 2. The Medal Play Championship will consist of your three best rounds of four specified events conducted throughout the season. Those events are designated with ROUND 1 and so on. We will pay the top 8 places with the winner earning $50. 3. The Match Play Championship will be conducted the same as last season. After the brackets are set the matches can be played on Tuesday or any other day agreed upon by both players. The match must be completed in the two week period following the date the particular round is scheduled for. This change will allow the majority of our players who are not involved in the tournament to play other formats. All Match Play and Medal Play scores are to be posted as Tournament Rounds in the USGA Handicap System. Match Play scores do not count toward the low gross, low net or most improved trophies. We will pay 8 places with the winner earning $50.

4. This year the annual Player s Championship Tournament will be open to all players who have played in a minimum of 1/3 of the 20 Funny Money events. This is to ensure fair handicaps for those participating. 5. We provide lunch once a month. On those dates we will compete for prizes on each nine holes. This will accommodate any groups desiring to play just nine holes nand then enjoy lunch and camaraderie.
