SCORERS GUIDE There are to be two scorers, one from each team. One scorer is to watch and call goals scored, goals missed and centre passes to the other scorer who will mark them down. These roles are switched at half time. Scorers only sign the score sheet at the END of the game, as that indicates they agree that the score sheet is a true and correct record of the game. Scorecards are to be found at each court in plastic pockets. The game information is already filled out at the top of the card. Take one score sheet for your game only, and leave the rest in the pocket for the next game. To fill in the score sheet: 1. Each team manager will print the players name on the scoresheet prior to the game. 2. Player positions can be filled in, but this is optional for NQ carnivals. 3. Players must sign the score card the first time they play during the carnival, but do not need to do so for subsequent games. 4. Centre passes must be recorded; either at the start of the game or when they are taken. 5. Separate records are kept for both GS and GA goal attempts. Mark I for a successful goal, O for a missed attempt. 6. Successful goals are marked off in the Progressive Score section. 7. Use the square bracket ( ] ) to indicate the end of each half of the game, for both the Centre Passes and Progressive Scores. 8. At the end of the game, write the final score and the winning team in the section provided. Always write the winning score first, and the losing score second. E.g. 24/18. 9. The winning team s scorer will return the score sheet to admin after the game. 10. The team captains are not required to sign the score sheet for the NQ carnivals. 11. As all umpires sign on prior to the games at the umpire s desk, they are not required to be listed or sign the score cards at NQ carnivals.
